Looks like I came to the forum at the right time. =)2

I came across this 'new to me' term quite often - 果冻种水 (translation similar to 'fruit jelly type'?)。Do you know what translucency they are trying to convey? From photos it looks better than glutinous, not quite ice type right?

I also have a hard time differentiating between ice glutinous and 'melting' glutinous (maybe they are the same?).
Wish I can see more real life examples in person.

Also looking forward to your jadeite package reveal!

Fruit jelly I interpret it as describing light colour old mine material that has an even soft glow almost like chewable compared to glassy, it can be icy glutinous or melting glutinous.
Correct me if I'm wrong, images from IG:

Melting glutinous, jelly

Depends on one's standards some ppb say these are just melting glutinous but I personally think they are icy glutinous, jelly

Excellent explanation thank you so much for that. The photos also help alot to differentiate between the glutinous types. I'm trying to buy an ice type when it's still within reach so looks like I won't need to look at fruit jelly type too closely.

Also do you think this one is more melting glutinous?

@joycece. Just looking at your photo examples. I like the look of the melting glutinous and ice glutinous more than the fruit jelly.

Sorry misread your post, I like the fruit jelly when they are icy glutinous or melting glutinous, more than near or half jelly.

This would be glutinous IMO

@Lovinggems Textbook standard lol but sellers usually overstated up to 2 or 3 levels ...if according to this standard, all the pictures we posted are at or below melting glutinous

But if you are buying for yourself I think don't need to care about this so much as long as you like it.

Another post with excellent visuals. Thank you for taking the time posting it. I kept on seeing lavenders, I look and think they are quite pretty but didn't think are that fantastic but the prices are quite high.

Looks like most sellers have lower standards than the guide you just posted.

Looks like the different glutinous type is not easy to learn.
Here's another one Screenshot_20210430-215313_WeChat.jpg

Lavenders are so beautiful to me. I just love them. They are difficult to find though. It might take me years to learn all I want to learn about the lavender jade. I just go by how they look and if I like the look of them. There is no rhyme or reason why I even like what I see. I just have to go by my gut feeling. It took me a long time to find the pieces that I like. I think that lavender is my favorite color by far.

Lavender jadeite are lovely, I did wish I spent more time looking and learning before buying my first bangle, which is a light lavender. I did enjoy wearing mine for a while and occasionally I'll take it out for a day or two so I won't say it's a regretful purchase.

I just went back and read the ALL ABOUT JADE thread. I love your collection and the red jade pieces are especially interesting.

My favourite colour is green, maybe that's why I love looking at jadeite and emeralds.

Thank you Lovinggems. You are so sweet. I love the lavender color because it is such a dainty color. It just makes me love it more the more I look at it. I never used to like green but have since fallen in love with it. Leave it to jade to make you love every color. Can you believe that many moons ago I would not even look at jade. One day I saw a piece that I really liked and that started it all for me. LOL....I am so weak.

Speaking of green, that is the last color of jadeite I purchased. Here is my new green jadeite bead necklace and bracelet .

I love the colour, reminds me of a fresh apple mixed with a hint of mint.

Thank you ladies. I will be missing them soon because tomorrow I have to take them to my seller/jeweler who will be sending them off to Hong Kong for a few weeks. When I purchased this it came as a long necklace and it was too long for me so I asked my jeweler to change it to a bracelet/necklace combo and to make the clasps in this design for me which she did. Although this came with a certification because the necklace was changed to the combo my jeweler suggested that it be recertified so off it goes to Hong Kong Jade and Stone Lab for the new certification which is the lab my jeweler usually uses for her certs. I will have to wait a few weeks now but in the meantime I can wear my green bangle. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend and enjoying your lovely jade pieces.

@joycece the example of your bangle is fantastic!!! I feel like I learnt something new today. The texture is completely different been pic 1 and pic 3!

I buy what appeals to me too. And colour appeals to me the most so I will forgive a few sins for color.

Plus beer budget and all!!!!

Let me know if this works! This is where I posted about how to buy from this vendor.

You'll need to add her on Wechat which is where most of the stock is!

I've got wechat set up but I'm not sure how I had it set up so hopefully you can follow all the links to get her wechat number!

Post in thread 'Lavender Jadeite Bangle!' https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/lavender-jadeite-bangle.265216/post-4946386

I spent $1097 usd on this bangle including the Certificate from the Hong Kong laboratory and postage to Australia.

It does have like three lines in it (can't feel them with my finger) but that didn't bother me. It's super sturdy! Had a massive clash with my green Bangle and unfortunately it cracked my green Bangle but it came out of that fight without a single mark.

I've since given up wearing one on each hand!

It's opaque though so not that jelly/ice texture that people love. I had to give that up for colour.

WOW WOW WOW!!! That is a super good price. The color is AMAZING! In regard to being opaque, I heard that lavenders are almost impossible to get in the icy variety without it being so washed out. Some people have told me that but then I don't know what to believe because others have said that there are really icy lavenders. Hmmmm wonder who is correct. In any case yours is a B E A U T Y! Okay, I will read the thread you advised me to and be right back.

Sigh........I cannot even imagine how to do this wechat thing so complicated AND I am a scaredy cat when it comes to the computer. I just have to live envious of your beautiful bangle. Holy....you really got a good deal. I can't believe you got this amazing deal. I was looking for a bangle just like yours because I have one that has similar color but I dropped it and so I had to do a repair job on it. I wanted one that looks like it did before I dropped it and yours looks like mine. If you ever see one again can you let me know. I LOVE your lavender bangle.

Hello Silvermom, can I ask where you got these beads from? They are lovely!

Sure. They are from my jeweler that I buy all my jade pieces from. Whenever something comes in that she thinks I would like she gives me a heads up. I have been buying from her for many many years. She is the only one I buy from because I totally trust her and she gives me certs from either HK Jade and Stone Lab or GIA. That is very important for me. Plus I can see and feel everything I buy in person. LOL I am a very picky person so she has to be very patient with me. She also sets all my jewelry for me too. The best thing is she does any repairs for me when I need it. When I cracked my lavender jade bangle she sent it off to Hong Kong to have her jewelers repair it because she knew how much I loved that piece and she said they are the only people she knew that could do the job. It took a long time for them to finish it but they did a great job that I was very happy with. You all have such lovely and beautiful pieces. I love looking at them. The people on this thread have amazing taste.

For yours the 1st one I think has the saturation adjusted so the green pops up and the background is slightly blue. The 2nd one maybe original.

@mellowyellowgirl gave the perfect example on the green one, it is not the smooth filter but expected to see more "texture" than picture or video if you buy semi translucent bangle. I see Jadeite as a color changing stone lol, they just looks so different in diff lightings. I had a light green+purple one that looks so fresh and smooth indoor but white with texture showing under sunlight. I told myself if I can't see the beauty in it's ugly time then it's not mean to be mine.

Rmb to asked for photos showing both side of the bangles too, it could be jelly/smooth on one side and heavy cotton on the other side.

Here's one of my new purchase I haven't received. Vendors toke picture in the same room.

As promised, here is the bangle I received. It looks slightly greenish in person but light blue thru the camera

All the bangles here truly makes me wish I had more dainty hands.
Here are my contributions as well, one of them is Dry green (one with the 24k Pixiu bead on it + my parents called it Gan Qing although I never understood it's translation to English) and the other has a variety of greens but has some moisture planted.

Last 3 pics were the Dry green without baby oil since you could literally see that it's drier than the Sahara Desert!
