WeChat ID is waslxysys. Did you chat w/the 8ct spinel seller?

Thank you.
He did not respond and there is no cert for the 8 carat spinel. He also wants 260 000 rmb (although I believe can be bargained to a lot less). No certificate. So nyet.

That's a pity! Was he at least willing to procure one for you? GRS has a HK ofgice, so it's not difficult.

How much is that sapphire? We know for sure it's real? Maybe that's the one I should save up for.

Price isn't listed, but probably over USD50000 if I had to guess.

Dunno. He said no cert and then he left it like that. I had to prise the price off him - that itself took two days. Maybe it is the time difference. Plus. I really have no time for this type of chatting, where I have to chase for pictures and prices (reeks of YY the jade seller and long story). If I want to drop 260 000 rmb, I will want to see it first in person.

I just bought a 900USD 3.93 carat pink spinel. Seller responded. Setting all sorted out. Being sent to Singapore for setting by another jeweller. That took under 4 hours to achieve despite time difference and all. I am very happy with this type of buying - great quality (to my eye anyway), real and reasonable and fast. Even if I had won the lottery, I still like this type best - hey, who doesn't want a good deal? :mrgreen2:

When it comes to something that costs that much, I feel like I'd rather have the money in a retirement account than in a gem. $50,000 is not spare change for me, a mere mortal. I doubt I will ever buy a gemstone over $10k until I'm retired myself and no longer need to save for things like house and travel and retirement.

Bingo to that too. And make more money with the investments.

I wasn't 100% serious but I like to dream big. I'm not making much now but I don't like to say I'm a peasant and leave it at that. These gems are when we win the big lot after all ;)2

I would bargain the hell out of the vendor regardless of riches and wealth. Another huge dream of mine, to score great mammoth giant bargains:mrgreen2:.

That's a heated 2.13 ruby, you can see the H(a) comment in the GRS cert. Very very overpriced.
Oops, good catch. I took vendor's description at their word. :blackeye:

1C671BE4-C2AE-44AA-9E74-85FDAC2992C4.jpeg The Virgin Rainbow Opal, sold for just over $1 million I believe.
THIS. IS. OPAL.

I would like to see this opal without the studio lighting. It reminds me of this necklace.

I don’t plan on buying big ticket items until I can live solely on annuities, dividends, and interest. I will have wrinkled hands, but it’ll be full of bling. ;)2
