Hello,
I am looking into getting a pair of diamond earrings on 3 prong martini setting for my wife. I am looking into the following options (both D in color) because the last F color stone I ordered from Brian Gavin Diamonds looked more yellow than I wanted. When I checked them out under my yellow kitchen lights and my flash app on my phone, they looked more yellow than the other F color diamonds i had and i dont think that is what i will like.
Anyways I am considering .395 carats and .393 carat, both D in color and SI1 in clarity which are both signature round from Brian Gavin. This pair will cost me $2,080.00. There is chance that Brian Gavin Diamonds will give me 5% discount with a coupon code which will knock the price down to $1,976.00. This is price without the setting.
Another option is Solasfera .36 carats each (both being D in color and SI1 in clarity). The price i am offered is $1,950.00 and the shipping will cost me $65.
Basically, .39 carat signature pair from Brian Gavin Diamonds and .36 carat pair from Solasfera diamonds will both cost me about $2,000 each. I have not been able to see a Solasfera in person but it seems like a real contender when i checked out Good old gold youtube videos.
I am split between the 2 options. I know that i have to chose what my wife and i will like more but i wanted to see if anyone had any valuable input that might help me make the better choice. Will diamonds that small be better on the traditional 57 facet cut of Brian Gavin? Or since i seem to like the more whiter flashes found on solasfera on youtube videos, will the slightly smaller solasfera be the better choice since it seems to yield a better spread?
