Hi - after quite a lot of searching, lurking & learning I think I have found the diamond for me.

https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-4045323.htm?source=pricescope

But.... this is where I’m starting to doubt what minimal knowledge I have & wondering if I made the right choice.

I’d originally been looking for CA 34.5 or 34.6 to best compliment the PA of 40.7 or 40.8 in addition to a small table. The stone I’ve chosen has a CA of 34.9 with a 40.7 PA & 55.5 table.

I’m uncertain as to how this combination will work together & as it’s a big deal for DH & myself both emotionally & financially, I would very much appreciate your opinions & thoughts.

I had discounted a different stone with specs of table 54.9/depth 61.9/CA 34.6/PA 40.8, on the basis of it being slightly smaller however it did seem to exhibit more fire.

I’ve looked at the videos soooo many times I can’t see straight or think straight for that matter :loopy:.

Any guidance would be very gratefully received.

You are good to go with a cut above, but if you want others to find other ACAs, i’m Sure someone will be around to help. I’m on my way to an office baby shower :))

Thanks @whitewave.
Awww that sounds fun, have a great time.

Remember that with super ideals (e.g. ACA, CBI, BG), you don't need to worry about the crown angles. It's like pushing the "easy" button. That work is already done for you bc you are paying for the confidence of a super ideal cut. Of course everyone has their own preferences within these specs, but overall you honestly can't go wrong.

Edit. I personally would go down in color and clarity to increase size, but again that's just my preference. Your stone is beautiful!

@IssyBelle That is a great stone. While it may not be a 34.5/40.8, it does have a nice small table and the CA and PA work well together; ASET is excellent! Should have plenty of fire with the higher CA and smaller table.

Nothing to worry about the cut, it is magnificent.
Not sure about the color... I've read GIA is stricter so I would have the diamond checked.

Thanks @lovedogs, yes I think I need to remember that the super ideal cuts are given that name for a reason. I do feel like I’m losing the (plot!) enjoyment of the search at times.
I’m not certain how colour sensitive I am & it’s almost impossible to find decent stones locally to help determine this. I thought sticking to F was a safe bet but then the stone I’ve purchased appeared on the inventory & that was that =)2

Thanks @crbl999, my rep at WF who has the patience of a saint btw, said the increase in size & colour of the stone I’ve gone for were more noticeable than the minimal difference in scintillation between it & the slightly smaller stone.

Still, the smaller stone (54.9/34.6/40.8) was a little disco ball........

This one will be a bigger disco ball!! Congrats and please come back with pics!!

How are you setting it?
