Sizing Problem with Trellis and Bezel setting 3 Stone Diamond Ring

I am wondering if anyone else has had the same experience that I have. I have just had this ring made to my normal size, but, because of the manner in which the ring is constructed, ie the shaft (made in yellow gold) does not join underneath the center diamond. Each side of it finishes underneath each of the side diamonds. The setting is in platinum. The trellis then joins side diamond to center and vice versa. My problem is that although the ring is the correct size, because the band doesn't meet underneath the diamond, the "sweep" of each side of the trellis crosses your finger therefore seemingly making the ring larger in size. Is there some sort of "standard" amount that I should have "sized down" by because of the extra "top" (underneath the center diamond) room that makes more room in the "hole" of the ring. I sincerely hope someone understands what I am saying. I would love to hear anyone else's experience on whether or not I should bother with a re-size of only approximately half a size.:|

I would suggest sizing bars rather than resizing. That way, if your fingers ever go up in size then you can have them removed. Bonus is that the sizing bars can help stabilize the ring and keep it from spinning as much.

Thank you very much for your information. I appreciate your time.

You can also do sizing balls, or speed bumps, to help reduce the size some. Make sure you account for your finger size during the hot summer months
when fingers swell.
