ok everyone, i''m back!
here i have a few pics for you of some other rings i have in the jewel box..first up,the antique alexandrite..this gold ring is from way back..it is i believe from the 20''s. i''ll post several.

here it is with a few views..the alexandrite in this ring is a strong colour changer from a deep purple to a string pink...didn''t get any pics that showed that today..i don''t have any florecent lighting here, but that''s what it likes to change to pink..

now this ring i love because it looks almost ancient..it''s not though..it''s an amethyst, dome cut and lovely. i just liked it for it''s unique look.

this little beauty is a 3 carat star sapphire...has a nice star effect. i didn''t buy this ring, i inherited it from my grandmother. i remember her telling me she always wanted a star sapphire, so she was so proud of it when she finally got herself one! it''s in 14 kt white gold with diamond accents. nice strong star. now, i''m not really a star stone lover, but this one is very neat.

this little sapphire ring i also inherited from a grandmother, the other one! lol. you know it''s funny , i guess the sapphire girl thing runs in my family... although it''s small, the three little sapphires have such a lite in them that you can see them from across any room!
i love the big ones though!!!

this nice little number is a heart shaped garnet with diamonds in white 14kt gold..my husband got this for me just for a surprise one day when we were hanging out in a mall..i said it was cute, so he bought it for me...should have told him i liked the bigger one!!! LOL..this one is adorable though.

this one a friend of mine gave to me, he owns a jewelry store and i happened to be in for a visit. i looked at it and he just said try it on..i did, it fit, he said keep it.
it''s amethyst. cute. looks great on ...again, i should have picked out the big one! LOL..ok, next time then!
so, i''m thinking tomorrow, when i get a chance, i''ll take some pics of my many egyptian pectorals for you to see..if anyone would like to see those.? i think they are very interesting jewels. i have so many more to do..but today at least i got to a few.

i thought maybe you might find it interesting to see the step by step of how pectorals are made..so i have some photos of my pectoral being made..here is step one..here the egyptian goldsmtih has cut out the shape of the piece in solid gold for the base and attached strips of gold to it for the stones to be inlayed later on..

then he removes the back plate to be worked in repousse, leaving only the outline.

he works the back in repousse and attaches two rings for the necklace to be strung through.

then he reattaches the two pieces and is ready to inlay stone.

and there we have the finished front..fully inlayed.

Thanks for sharing, and I always wondered where your screen name came from! Now I know. Your jewels are breathtaking. You need to get yourself one of those woven wigs that the Ancient Egyptian women wore (you can see examples in museums), and that would make for a nice picture with you wearing your Egyptian jewelry.

hello all!
i have tons of new pics to upload and i will in the morning, but they need to be cropped and such. but for now, i thought i''d post a few new ones i collaged of the beautiful princess diana''s sapphire ring, for reference. i know the size of that sapphire has been in hot dispute for years! lol..and so, here i have made one of my famous collages to show it''s true size..blow is the pic of diana i used, and next to follow if the pic cropped to show just her ring and hand along with a cropped pic of my ring and my hand. together made the same size for comparison, we can see that her sapphire is very similar in size to the one i have on..the one i am wearing is 7 carats. and yes, i just love the detective work..lol

oh boy oh boy oh boy! i''m soooooooooooooooooo excited! i purchased this new sapphire...and i have had it comissioned into a ring..i''ll add pics of the ring next..now, these pics are all i have of it for the moment, it''s currently on it''s way to me now! it should arrive within a few weeks. i can''t wait!
