A lot of people here love to bash Signet, the parent who bought JamesAllen (R2Net) last year and own most of the big jewellery chains in USA and Britain.
http://www.idexonline.com/Memo?id=45128 is a story by one of their VP's about their responsible sourcing and RJC and other affiliations.
Some may call this BS, but I personally know one of the guys who has worked tirelessly for Rio Tinto to establish the RJC, who then moved to Signet for several years and stewarded them thru the extremely difficult RJC audit. He helped my firm to be one of the first ever small jewellery retailers and the first Aussie company to gain RJC certification. He has also been a client for several years.
So believe it or not, Signet are not all evil!
