Thank you so much @Daisys and Diamonds ! When I wore it to pick up my kids the other day, I felt like I should be pointing my finger at everything. It was like the ring has a mind of its own. Lol.

oh its definatly a keeper then :kiss2:
and it wants to be worn and to go out and have adventures and brunch and lunch and afternoon teas with your friends =)2

My office lighting is not the best, but you get the idea. Haha

Your ring is right up my alley! Love everything about it! The bezel, the shoulders...all yummy.
;-)
And I love your bezel band too

Hi everyone! I’m a Chanel vintage collector, but going through all the bags hunting I came across some jewelry pieces that I liked and purchased to joint my vintage family)) but I don’t know anything about jewelry. I found this forum and I’m wondering where I can post some pictures and to get someone’s thoughts of the age and value. I bought it oversea and there is zero information from the seller. For example this is a Dior 18K ring with 3 diamond. Any guess how old is this ring? I also bought 4 rings with sapphire and diamonds (not sure if they are vintage or just used), and pearls and gold set (necklace and earrings) that I really love and planning to wear with my Chanel stuff when going out for some beautiful dinners. So I would appreciate if you help me to figure out where I can post pictures of them and to get fair opinions E888B65C-A2E7-4197-9E67-4C0CDA593EEA.jpeg

One of my absolute favourites, but it's not so suited as my e-ring. I'm afraid of wearing down the detailing, so it gets worn maybe once a month. I haven't gotten any compliments on it yet; I wondered if maybe because the the diamond is so small or wonkily cut. Even my jeweller when resizing it apparently told my husband that he could try putting a larger and/or nicer diamond...oh well! In the second photo without the reflections, you can see how buttery this gold is.

Wow, this is stunning!!

I love the sculpted gold and am always a fan of a beautiful and unique old cut. As for the lack of compliments, I think you're hanging around with the wrong people!

Thank you! In my circles people either wear no jewellery except wedding bands or they have diamonds (like 1-1.25 carat e-rings, stud earrings, etc). That's why this forum has been a lovely discovery.

I feel the same. My circles consist mainly of people who think jewelry is either worldly/showy or just not very interesting. This is definitely a safe space for me to show my enthusiasm!

Very art nouveau vibes. Love the organic feel of it!

Yes! The art nouveau period and belle epoque/guirlande periods are my fav periods for their curvy, organic lines :)

You and me both, and you don't see anywhere near the volume of examples. @chaitea there is nothing quite like carved gold.

This platinum buttercup ring is one of my current favorite pieces. It contains a charming, near-colorless OMC.

I just paired it with a 1920 engraved 18k band that @lala646 spotted and posted on the “Somebody’s gotta buy this piece” thread. I think they make a lovely set!

@mtriplee, that buttercup setting is one of my favorites and the diamond in it looks amazing. Is it French? I’ve seen rings like this with French origin, love the band with it too!

Thank you, @YadaYadaYada :)

It sure looks like other French buttercup settings I've seen, but I don't know how to interpret the markings. There are numbers/symbols on one side, and on the other side there's a blob (looks like a hallmark) that I can't make out with my 30x loupe.

This is the first diamond ring I ever got received, a gift from my father for my 16th birthday. Don’t know much about it, only that it’s a MRB diamond in an antique white gold setting. She holds an extremely special place in my heart.

My antique 2.05 carat OEC (not certified but we think M-N-O and SI1) in a new Belle Epoque reproduction platinum and rbc diamond setting.
I never thought I would fall for a reproduction setting but I really like this one…the milgrain bows and even the heart-shaped prongs.
I surprise myself that I find it romantic.
I guess I’m not as much of a “purist” as I thought!
Are you guys ok with the new repro setting I’m curious what the pros think?

Love this! Boldly romantic, almost in-your-face with the size of that diamond and the height to which it's set, and still thoroughly feminine. Extravagance well done. I think it's fabulous.

Thank you @Ibrakeforpossums i hope you’re talking about my ring!!
I saw it at a jewelers who does NOT specialize in antique and vintage but is very high end.
So they had most likely taken the diamond in from a wealthy client and then had it set by their very excellent bench not really knowing what the diamond was.
They referred to it as an “old miner”
I think I’m keeping it as is!
