Yay! I feel like I'm (we're) really making progress with this design now!! Last question, promise. How do you feel about just haloing the perimeter, which would keep the bags closer to the center stone? Naturally, they're longer than the traps in the previous design, so I was thinking that fully haloing the center stone could push them too far outside. Many thanks, my friend!

I think haloing the perimeter would look beautiful! I like the above example. What size ring do you wear? If your finger is on the small side, you have to make sure you have room for the additional stones.

You should definitely start a thread on your project! I would love to see it as it progresses!
I wear a similar size too (5.25 on R ring finger), so I know sometimes having less finger real estate to work with can dictate some of the design elements.

You have really beautiful hands, @GemmaBella! Your fingers are slim, but also nice and long... mine are short little baby carrots. But back to the jewels... that ring is positively smashing!! I just don't think you can beat a halo using larger diamonds like yours. I'm not as big a fan of melee diamonds. They look great... I just hate the maintenance of making sure they remain secure. Anyway, that hand-applied milligrain adds some serious richness to the piece. It elevates the design, IMO. Of course, the paraiba remains the rightful star of the show. Kudos!!

You're too kind, thank you. Yes, I too love CRD's milgrain. It's one of my favorite aspects of her designs. I forgot about this one...and it's pretty much the same colors you have to work with! It's paraiba, pink tourmaline and kornerupine set in 18k white gold in the small Lily pendant. My mom and son gave it to me for Valentine's day last year. It's a very soft and pretty color palette.

Omg, I LOVE it!!! I’m a sucker for the architectural details in Art Deco pieces, and this is a true inspiration piece! The stone is like the cherry on top!

Wow, that is just gorgeous! It's very different, (and I mean that in the best way possible!) The kites work so nicely to create an architechural design element. And
I always love the work Yvonne's engraver does on her pieces. It's hard not to want to get everything engraved because he is so talented and that is sadly becoming a lost art. Totally beautiful. That stone is like candy! We need some handshots!

Oh come on... this thing is insane!! I have never, ever seen a Mahenge cut into a fancy shape like that. You must have the only one. And then you did it justice with an equally interesting mounting. Kudos! What weight and size in the spinel? I just can't deal with this ring!!

Spinel is 2.22 ct, 11.15 x 6.45.

Wearing two Camellia rings today...the oval one is 14k white gold with hauyne and paraiba (cab!) melee. The center opal is from Mermaid Waters, AU through Opal Auctions. I just love these two together because they remind me of one of my favorite things...the ocean.

The black opal is hard to photograph. Irl it is very fiery with shades of turquoise and purple. I was so excited when I found it and it fit perfectly in this setting. I haven't been to see the ocean in 2 years, so these are what I look at to recreate the feeling!

My camera has a hard time focusing on the fine details of the engraving. This was the clearest pic. It is next to an 18k yellow gold engraved ring by DK for comparison. (I know you have an engraved DK piece, which I just LOVE btw. So thought you'd like to see a side by side). Yvonne's engraver does top notch work as well. The attention to detail is amazing.

Thank you! I can’t remember seeing one of Yvonne’s settings engraved before and I love it! I’m totally asking for that on my next piece. I appreciate the comparison to DKs engraving. Her engraving looks perfect.
