Some smaller pearl studs

In the 1st column are 7.5-8mm freshwater studs from a local jewelry store and 9.5-10mm Freshadama danglies. They are both creamy white with pink overtones.

In the 2nd column are akoyas, with the 1st row being 7.5-8mm ten-nyo grade studs, 2nd row 9-9.5mm hanadama grade danglies and 3rd row 7.5-8mm normal akoya studs with golden orangey-pink overtones. These were all ordered from Rakuten (Japan’s Amazon) vendors that specialized in pearls back when they had an international website. They are all not certified, but IRL the ten-nyo grade pair has the sharpest mirror luster, strong pink overtones and a crystalline quality I don’t see in my other pearls.

In the 3rd column are also akoyas, with the 1st row 9-9.5mm madama grade (but not certified) studs with silvery blue-pink overtones, 2nd row 8-8.5mm Pearl Science Lab certified aurora madama akoyas with silvery blue overtones.

New Little H Finestrino earrings!! FW souffle with white diamonds. These are exactly what I wanted  Bright and glittery and light as feathers. I've got Hisano's Finestrino Tahitians with black diamonds but they get lost against my dark hair - these show up on me!! :appl:

I didn’t want to start a whole thread because they aren’t exciting and fancy like you ladies but I got these for Christmas - I like how they are large and unusual. I’m a larger woman (5’10” with broad shoulders) and I like how quirky they are. I may need more- they’ll need to be equally quirky (please ignore my dog hair I can’t be picky with sun photos this time of year ) 2D7B6454-7DD5-4A32-BEF5-ED41D9070CD5.jpeg A38AE03D-B54E-4F50-8BFD-8BE86A687021.jpeg

ahhh i love these, the rainbow beads make the necklace really stand out !

What a beautiful Multicolor Necklace you have. What are those pearls? They are amazing, which vendor did you get it from?

So sorry for all those question but the necklace is absolutely gorgeous

These are Tahitians with 2 or 3 (I can’t remember- only a handful) of Edison’s mixed in they were purchased from cmw pearls

Lowering the tone of this thread - not for the first, and no doubt not the last time :lol-2:
i mean they are real pearls - in the same kind of context that 100's & 1000's (sprinkles) are food :lol-2:
its the middle of winter here and although gardens are bursting with colour (camilias are my favourite) its still cold and often overcast and dull

so this is just a tiny bit (NZ $4.95) of cheap and careful fun
not at all serouse
isnt going to be jewlery
using some of the colours im going to extend and fill out some thing i plan to use to embellish some random piece of clothing ...that i may never wear so maybe a Christmas candle holder :lol-2: :lol-2: :lol-2: :lol-2:

btw this is fairy bread - a kid's party staple and the crusts should be cut off ! 1658996205224542017570.jpg 16589963750351961705498.jpg 13462381-Fairy-bread-Hundred-and-thousands-on-toast.jpg

Again I would like to thank Andrey and Ali for creating this forum for us!

And as the title says...

Show me your pearls! Details would be much appreciated too!

I would start us off but I don't have anything much to show, so I am looking forward to all the lovely pearl candy belonging to some of our PS ladies!

I don't have many pearls, and I came to appreciate them much later (maybe pearls are an old lady thing) but I have come to see them as deserving a place with every serious collector. Here are my favorite pieces, the two pins might also represent antique jewelry, but felt they are best representing seed pearls. The two rings are quite different, one is a IMG20221005105158.jpg IMG20221005105407.jpg IMG20221005105717.jpg IMG20221005110004.jpg Tennessee River pearl with golden overtones and the other is a Baume ring, just very nice mid century design and workmanship. All of this came from eBay over the last ten years or so.

I know what you are saying! It is sad in a way, but I certainly appreciate them! It is great that they have not been melted down for scrap, and hopefully will have a long life even after I am gone. These beautiful examples of artistry and craftsmanship deserve to live forever! That is the true tribute to the makers who were often anonymous and underpaid.

Thank you! I don't usually wear pins, but if it gets cold this winter I might be able to put them on a coat or scarf. I'm sure many of you are collectors like me, so you have more than you can wear on a regular basis. But I take them out on a regular basis to admire. It is a kind of therapy to look at these things!

Hi to all pearls lovers. I was never a fan of pearls but I saw these two pieces and fell in love. Would be great to hear your thoughts. I have never owned jewelry with pearls and i am just wandering where this set was made in and how old it could be. Any suggestions? DB837213-DDC2-4B8F-A6A2-D331EEC9FEF3.jpeg suggestions?
