Oh, that’s so sweet of you to say! She really is a lovely piece. Dainty (.20 each), yet she has such nice presence. I really enjoy wearing her.GASP!! This is STUNNING!! Thank you for sharing this, @ohsomethingshiny!
Haha thanks @AV_
Here she is in her original state, I don’t really wear her right now.
Below right is a replacement stone candidate, which might fit. If not this stone, maybe a soft ballet pink sapphire?
Thanks for tagging me! Let’s see some more rings, pretty please!
I think that’s this one from JBG and there more pictures at that link
I shall try & remember to take a picture of my Great Aunts engagement ring when I see my sister on Sunday. She was engaged with it in 1935. It's 18ct, platinum, 2 OEC's & tiny single cuts in the shoulders. My sister inherited it & I got the beautiful pearl & OEC halo cluster.
It may be grubby as it's stuck on my sisters hand, but I'll do my best for you!
That would be awesome - thanks, @Alex T! You girls sure got some stunning pieces!
We sure did! She had no children of her own & was a surrogate Granny, stepping up once my real Granny died when I was 5. I have Granny's original engagement ring for 1937 - they were both in the favourite 5 pieces thread. Great Aunt had a good eye for a perfect piece of jewellery though. I'd love to photograph all her treasures that we have, but they're scattered between my 2 sisters & my mum. My eldest sister inherited Great Aunt's mothers engagement ring, which we think was from around 1901ish. She married in 1905 & Great Aunt was born in 1914.
This is fascinating - I'd love to see a photo shoot!
Happily @mrs-b https://www.jewelsbygrace.com/60ctw-antique-moi-et-toi-bypass-ring - I had linked it in the post above but the link isn’t showing in a different colour like it usually does so you’d have to somehow know to click on the words (sorry!)@foxinsox - are you able to help me out with the link? I had this saved, but no link. I've just been all over JBG's site, but can't find anything.
Any help would be great!
Just realized it's the same one you already posted @mrs-b!
Hi mrs-b, thank you! The stone is omc and averages 5.84mm but it is off-round I guess we would say. Ring size is 8-ish. Finger size is slightly less. It doesn’t slip around on my fingers at all, despite being top-heavy.@InsecureSweetGirl -
I think your moi et toi ring is just gorgeous. Can you share the size of the diamond in it? And also your finger size? I'd love to know how to get that look!
