Show me your diamonds by the yard necklaces

I am working with the wonderful Becca at Whiteflash to make a custom DBTY necklace. I am leaning towards 10 or 12 pointers, 5 or 7 stones, 16”. I would really appreciate any photos of DBTY necklaces. This necklace will be to celebrate a milestone birthday and a baby on the way!

I have no input yet, but following this thread! I am working on one as well. I have length figured out so far lol and also narrowed down to stones of either 10 or 12 points each. About the chain thickness, I was thinking that I will do 1.5 mm like diamondseeker’s (thanks @diamondseeker) But I am wondering if I should go ever so slightly thinner like 1.4 because my stones are smaller?
Hoping others will chime in here and post !

As far as I know, the chain choices are 1mm, either 1.2 or 1.3mm (can't recall which it is), and then 1.5mm. I mentioned in another reply to you that the chains on my 2 pendants on the right side of my top jewelry tray have the 1.2/1.3 mm chains so you can see the difference. I think I would go to with 1.2/1.3 mm for 10-12 point diamonds and 1.5 mm for 14-15 points and up. But either of you would need to ask WF about that middle size chain and if they can order it.

Orbaya’s dbty was also my inspiration when I ordered mine! This is exactly what is written in my work order from Whiteflash:

18K White Gold DBTY Necklace -Includes 7 x 0.15ct in A Cut Above diamond melee, F/G in color & VS in clarity (1.05ctw) -16" necklace, handmade bezels Orientation: One diamond centered in the front of the necklace other diamonds to be spaced 1.5 inches apart from each other

I love seeing everyone's DBTY necklaces and necklace/bracelet sets. They are on my wishlist for the future too, so its fun seeing the variety of what can be made.

@ac117 yours is incredible! I ordered mine with 12 pointers 1.5” apart. Is yours the 1mm chain?

Thank you! My experience with very thin chains is that they tangle more easily. Plus, I had a 36" dbty necklace made first and felt a 1mm chain was not sturdy enough. My bracelet also has the 1.5mm chain, so naturally I wanted my 17" one to have the same chain. It's still thin, just a little more durable than the 1mm.

Thanks! Yours is going to be beautiful! Yes, mine is the 1mm chain. I’ve never had any problems with it but I would probably consider a thicker chain for a long necklace.
