Hi everyone :)

So, I need more ideas for good settings to put my princess cut stone in. Please help! :D

I will admit I am completely biased because my cushion is in the same setting. But I *LOVE* the Ritani endless love without halo for a princess. Here are some pics:

And another...

This danhov setting is beautiful, but a bit more expensive than the others listed below. It''s probably my favorite of all of them, but there are some very affordable options listed that are gorgeous as well: http://www.jamesallen.com/engagement-rings/settings-with-sidestones.asp?module=setting&cid=294&item=1697

This is probably my second favorite. It''s thin and delicate, the work is well done, and it allows a band to sit flush: http://www.pearlmansjewelers.com/jewelry-designers/ritani-jewelry/rings/06QQ1/18/

This is one of my favs: http://www.knoxjewelers.biz/index.htm?crn=201&rn=334&action=show_detail

This is another fav of mine: http://whiteflash.com/Engagement-Rings/Styles/Diamond-Settings/The--Legato--with-Micro-Pave_1071.htm

This solitaire is simple and pretty, and cheap! http://www.knoxjewelers.biz/index.htm?crn=201&rn=923&action=show_detail

If she likes ornate settings, this one is gorgeous: http://www.knoxjewelers.biz/index.htm?crn=201&rn=1037&action=show_detail

This setting will hold a princess, and it''s so delicate. It would be a good choice to make the stone look bigger than it is: http://www.jamesallen.com/engagement-rings/settings-with-sidestones.asp?module=setting&cid=58&item=1457

The W-prong from WF is stunning: http://whiteflash.com/Engagement-Rings/Styles/Solitaire/-W-Prong--for-Princess-by-WF_742.htm

This one is beautiful and it''s only $590! http://www.knoxjewelers.biz/index.htm?crn=201&rn=710&action=show_detail

If your gf likes more contemporary looks, this solitaire is very nice. http://www.knoxjewelers.biz/index.htm?crn=201&rn=1001&action=show_detail

Here''s a classic trellis look. http://www.knoxjewelers.biz/index.htm?crn=201&rn=957&action=show_detail

Here''s a pretty three stone look. http://www.knoxjewelers.biz/index.htm?crn=201&rn=1031&action=show_detail

I''ve always loved ritani settings! They are simple and clean, but have a little personality with the pave, and make a small rock look like a boulder with the thin bands LOL!!! I haven''t met very many girls who *don''t* like these types of settings.

Fourth vote for the Ritani! I like this Tacori too. The halo is REALLY fine and small.

Haha, I just realized we all posted the same setting right on top of each other =) It was like a rush to suggest.

MidwestDiamondHunter: settings can be really personal do you have any idea what she would like? Thin pave or eternity bands are really popular right now (at least on PS) and they are a really beautiful plus most girls would love them. However, she might want something more unique or ultramodern etc.

Ohh Gypsy''s Tacori is really nice too.

I think you can see the trend here is *delicate*, which is why many of us aren''t loving the champagne setting...

Good ideas! Thank you so much! Keep em coming! :D

Do you have any favorites of the settings posted so far, you''ve got a lot of ideas here.

My advice:

Go to PearlmanJewelers.com Firenzejewels.com SolomonBrothers.com and browse the settings you see on there. If you see something you like by a designer say you see some prongs and a head that's nice by ritani... go the ritani site and browse to see what else they have with the same head etc.

Once you've gone to the designer's websites hopefully you'll have found a couple that have caught your eye-- even if they are out of your price range... post them here and we'll tell you what we think, whether we've seen something similar... etc.

My favorite of the three you posted is the second one. The first and third ones have odd heads that really stick up...not my preference. The second one has a head that is much sleeker and nicer IMO.

But all three are LOADS better than the one from Stein!!!

Actually, the third one from WF with the Legato head is a verrrrry low profile head. Pictures may be skewing it a bit, but I actually have that setting on my hand - and can vouch that it is low profile. The uniqueness - and many probably would not like it - is the way the head is designed - with the swirly lines on it. I happen to think it is kinda cool, but it wouldn't be for everyone.

I do like the second one - but it may be a little too flush for me - but the milligrain and diamonds on the band are yummy! I wonder if they offer this in platinum in case he wants to go that route?

Here is a picture of it from the side (mine is a round - but you get the idea)

This one!

OK, so I''m really biased, since this is the ring I''m having custom-made. But of course I think it''s the best princess setting ever!

So..this ring isn''t mine...but I love Kohdy ''s setting which I believe is Ritani''s Endless Love w/ halo. Also double benefit is that the setting allows her to have a thin wedding band flush underneath! Pics:

Hey Peridot! Thank you! I am glad that you like my ring!!!

Well, I do too! LOL!

And yes, it is Ritani''s Endless Love with Halo. I love how the ring sits so low on my finger: a feature that is very important to me!

I really like the Legato head - it''s very feminine and delicate.

But I like it without the micropave:

When you click "enlarge," the one on the left is a princess.

The problem that I''ve been finding with most princess settings is that they tend to have shanks that widen as they approach the center stone. I very much prefer a smaller, more delicate band. Lots of the ones in this thread have been nice and delicate!
