I am currently searching for an omc or acc diamond. My local jeweler had an omc in an estate ring. It is in my budget, but the only flaw is a natural in the right hand corner of the diamond. It is graded as a m/n color 1.98 ct. The place said I could leave it as is or have it recut. Any opinions? I guess I'm worried about durability but I like that it is an actual antique diamond.

Is it an indented natural or one that is extruding? I'm inclined to think an indented natural would have a greater likelihood of causing a durability risk.

But, this is a question that would be best answered by an expert who can examine it in person. Not all naturals (or any other type of clarity characteristic) are created equal, and should be evaluated individually.

Does the diamond have a certification from a reputable grading body such as GIA? Generally, stones rated SI and above should not have durability risk factors.
