@Avondale look at her ring!!! It’s such a lovely blue at a random angle! Tis what I strive for!

You mean yours isn't like that already? Giiiiirl... C'mon. We've seen the photos. We know.

But yes, I totally get it. Velvet Blue is like this - regardless of where you look at it from. It's why I'm so fond of silky stones. Forget the sparkle, give me colour!

You need to set her!!!!!! Superb!!!!!! Colour is indeed king as they say!

Tell me about it! But I'll have to wait with the setting, I simply must. The ring for the sapphire I bought before this one is currently in the making, and I have some real estate expenses lined up for the summer... we all know how renovations can become a bottomless pit for money.

For now I must settle for (what I hope to be) the banger three stone. Besides, velvet blue is not lacking any attention. I barely part with her, I carry her in her box around the apartment and take her out every now and again to stare lovingly at her.

...I promise I'm not crazy. :rodent:

Who's the girl on the left? Please tell me that is not her daughter. If so, I'm getting old and going to find the nearest bridge.

I also carry my gem boxes from room-to-room... not sure if that comforts you about the whole crazy thing though. :lol-2:

Who is setting your previous sapphire, if I may ask?

The jeweller who did the restoration on my blue flower ring. I’m about 95% sure he’s Ukrainian but I haven’t asked. In any case, he’s very knowledgeable and skilled, and I always feel very reassured when I talk with him. Plus, he appreciates coloured stones in a way no other jeweller I’ve worked or talked with has before.

I look forward to seeing it! I thought it may be with David Klass, and then remembered (again) that you reside across the pond. I'm your typical solipsistic American who assumes everyone lives in the States. :roll2: Anyway, DK is working on my mint ring.
