Should I consider this?

It's well cut with good performance. It's priced for what it is..JA tends to be pretty reasonable. Did the intended wearer request a cushion? if you want to gain spread, it might be worth looking at SI1s. What is your budget for the diamond? Folks here can look for you too...

The diamond is for me lol, I’m trying to decide on what I want so when my boyfriend goes to order it I can give him the details. I want it eye clean of course, and my budget for the diamond is no more than $3,200. Id like to be as close to colorless as possible. My setting will be a JA cushion halo setting, I’ve made other posts, but this is directly about the diamond.

All of these or whatever you top choices need an ASET, if not available online.

I know this is not a cushion, but its a lovely stone with high color. If you like modern cushions, you might like OEC..

Hi @ashjade :)) Before we go anywhere - can you pls tell us your budget?

I love the stone you posted - it looks beautiful! James Allen True Heart Cushions are a beautiful stone, and they take the guess work out of getting a cushion right. Be aware, tho, you pay for that level of confidence, but it does give you an awesome stone.

Of the stones @rockysalamander posted above, for my taste, I ruled out the Enchanted Diamond stone. Its pattern looked a little less well defined to me, tho that may be to the video quality. But for whatever reason, I didn't like the facet balance/pattern.

I thought the .94 H VS1 looked a bit mushy compared to the other stones Rocky posted, and it also seemed more tinted, so I'd skip that one also. (I mean - you have to skip all of them, except for one in the end, so this is a narrowing down process.)

I liked the .91 G VS1 stone very much. Loved the whiteness of it and the clarity of the pattern. Stats, from what they listed, seemed fine and, given that it's cut the tiniest bit more shallow, faces up like a 1ct stone. My only reservation was that it was lower in the crown. Part of the appeal of a (some) cushion/s is its puffy head, and this is a flatter profile, which is not as much to my taste. Great stone, tho, and a solid, pleasing choice.

I also thought the 1ct H SI1 was terrific. A softer white, but still no tint as such, a nice, soft profile, very good faceting pattern and I'm guessing it's definitely eye clean. Also...1ct, yanno?

So it would be my pick of the three. But if your budget is a hard 3k cap, then the stone you chose is very lovely and I'm sure will do the business. :)

Good luck!

Exciting! Do you have ideas for the setting?

I agree with you, I like the puffy head, I want it to set up some. Did the one I post seem to have that? Or if not, which one does? My budget for diamond is at maximum $3200

I think the one you posted had that, but I think it was slightly more pronounced in the 1ct H SI1. I really do think it's a beautiful stone and worth.

I'm not sure if the ring is for you or for someone else, but I do think it's nice to hit the 1ct mark if possible. A lot of the settings on sites like JA are made for specific sizes, and 1ct is a standard size. So that would mean your stone should fit into the setting well, and give you a nice fit.

Yes, it’s for me. I’m trying to get all the specs so when my boyfriend makes a purchase next week, he’ll know what to get lol. I want something eye clean for sure, and I want a good size for my budget. I’m trying to have my diamond and setting all at or under $5,000.
I’ve looked at numerous cushions, but when I request an ASET, they don’t have them because the specific diamond is overseas. Anyway, I did request 2 for ASET yesterday (surprisingly they were around N.Y.)

I know other sites have diamonds, but I’m trying to get everything from one place so it isn’t overwhelming to my boyfriend.

Put on hold!

The 1 ct H SI1. That's a stone we all converge on.

What @mrs-b said. Also, any others you'd be heartbroken to lose out on. I think JA allows 3 holds.

I’m not sure if I should yet, they allow a 48 hour hold they said, and the purchase wont be made until March 9-10 :/

@rockysalamander @mrs-b Does it hurt that the GIA report on that diamond says cloud and pinpoints - and additional clouds and pinpoints aren’t shown?

Just confirmed with a JA associate, diamond is “absolutely eye clean”

If you decide this is "the" stone, tell BF to buy at end of hold. Or, you'll have to start over.

I'm not a fan of buying on credit, but if you put this on a card, he can pay it off on the 9/10 when he plans on buying.

We’re actually going to make payments on it, I think they do 6-12 month financing. The associate said her top picks are the 1 carat H you mentioned, and the H 0.86 vs1 that I mentioned (true hearts)

Looking at the video and reading the GIA cert, I was sure that it would be. I think you should jump on this. I believe they also have a return policy, so there's not really any harm in buying it at this point.

The effect of those things in diamonds in general could make it 'not eye clean'. But since it IS eye clean, then no, no problem. Any blemish can make a stone 'not eye clean' if it's prolific enough, but since the eye clean thing has been settled, then your stone's inclusions aren't a problem. Keep in mind - virtually every stone has issues as virtually no stone is truly flawless. The tipping point is whether you'll see the inclusions or not, and I thought that would be very unlikely. You can also take the SA's word for this; both at JA and at Blue Nile I've found the SA's assessment of eye cleanliness to be very reliable.

@rockysalamander @mrs-b

These will say “sold” because I had requested ASET for them, but just got email back saying it would take another 3-5 days to get the diamonds for ASET imaging, and they were wondering if I still wanted them.
What are your opinions on these? Not worth getting an ASET for?
I also inquired about the 1 carat to see if it’s available for ASET.

The .86 is nice. Not a fan of the 0.9 I. If they will keep the 1 h on hold, I'd get the ASET or the .86. Its nice to have at least 2 diamonds to select between. I don't mind the ASET on the 1 c H, let's see what others say...

Wow! I think that's a great ASET for a cushion! Very, very nice.

I would proceed immediately with purchasing this stone, if I were in the market.

Beautiful ASET and gets you the 1ct mark!

Ashjade - before we start evaluating other stones, just run by me what the previous stone lacks. If there's something more you're looking for, it would be helpful to know, so we can steer you in that direction. I think that 1ct H SI1 stone is a cracker - did you have reservations about it for some reason?
