Shopping for a Princess cut

I am shopping for a Princess cut in the $4000 - $4500 range. I would like it to be about 1 carat. The setting will be white gold. It will go in a three stone or classic setting.

My first question is: Is this a good price range? Would I get a significantly better stone if I brought my budget up a bit?

I'm looking at stones like this:

http://www.ritani.com/diamonds/princess-diamond-1-03-Carat-H-color-GIA-certified/D-C5N65W

I figure an H color and clarity of VS2 is fine. I like that the measurements (5.69MM X 5.66MM) seem large for a 1 carat stone and is almost perfectly square. Am I on the right track?

Anyone? :)

I think the table is very large and the stone is somewhat shallow. It has a large spread so faces up well, but not sure how it would perform compared to other princess stones...

I went browsing in your budget on James Allen (no ASET/IS on web, but can request ASET x 3 stones only), Whiteflash (ASET/IS on web) and Brian Gavin (none in the signature/ideal in your range so even going to $5-6K, still none). I selected the parameters of: GH VS 1-2 and then GIA/AGS labs only.

I personally preferred the following over the Ritani, but they are outside of your price range. Have a look and maybe they are worth considering if you are able to bump your budget.
