Shipping ering from US to UK-Quick question

Hi guys.
So my ring from BGD is shipping either end of this week or beginning of next week. What will happen when it reaches UK shores? It's going FedEx express will it go to my local depo who'll then get in touch with me to pay customs and whatnot?
Has anyone whose done this got any insight please?

When I did this last year they contacted me by post and email, I rang them up and paid over the phone - it didn't impact delivery

Hey. We have just done this last week.

I would advise getting the fedex app on your phone. Or you can track it online.

We did this and could see it coming through. It reached Stanstead from NYC in a little over 24hrs! It took longer to get from Stanstead to Glasgow!
. Ours was held up at customs at stanstead. Fed ex app said awaiting clearance. No-one called to let us know to pay anything. It sat for 20hrs when I lost patience -we had already been waiting 2 1/2 months for the ring I was desperate to get my hands on it. So We called fedex and paid over the phone once we realised it was being held up. I'm positive no-one would have told us.

Agree with the above about keeping a close eye- my last purchase from the US arrived in the UK very quickly then seemed to be in airport customs for ages. I wasn't sure what was going on until they sent me a letter saying I had fees to pay. It certainly delayed delivery by a few days.

When you are tracking your package keep an eye on when it says 'International Shipment Release'. If it sits there for more than a few hours you should call fedex and ask if the duties have to be paid up front. If it's an expensive item they usually hold the import till you pay the duties.
