Share your current obsession.. a gem, a piece, and idea - whatever it is, tell us about it.

Thanks. I stalked her insta and saw 35% off last November. I'm trying to decide what to do next. I love the stone and it's unique. And I also love the purple marquis spinel that I posted earlier in this thread, and a cute little victorian diamond and pearl charm on Etsy, and a couple of mabe pearl pendants I saw... It's a little too easy to drop $650-$1000 on an impulse purchase these days.

Tell me about it. I'm trying to space things out between credit card cut off dates.

My latest obsession is a big rose cut or old cut pear citrine ring in a really rich 18 or 20k and silver collet setting. I don't know how this snuck its way into my head, I stick pretty exclusively to diamonds, but it's on my mind all the time these days.

This is the best I've got to go by for now.

You know what. Its sparkly, so it counts. That's my interpretation of the PS penal code.

I like the way you think! And if Ella needs even more reassurance, each shade also contains crushed gems. The pink has rose quartz, the green has malachite, the silver has moonstone, etc. :D

Oh - I didn't even notice the names and ingredients!

Okay, I know I am spamming this thread but I have a lot of obsessions. I am not sure I would actually buy this (niche, better/bigger green stones out there). But it is definitely something I visit often and fantasize about owning - a .95ct green spinel w/grs report. Unheard of.

firefox wont let me in to looupe troop
says its a unsafe site so ill have to work it out on my phone

You can ignore the safety warning and force it to proceed anyway (there's probably a button named "I understand the risks" somewhere in there with tiny font).

Firefox often issues these warnings when a website's certificate expires, which I believe is an easy fix for the website owner and is more often than not a result of simply forgetting to keep it updated.

When it's a website you know and trust, it's no reason to fret. Just tell it to bypass the warnings.

I don't think I've ever seen a true green spinel... and it's a heart! :kiss2:

I'm surely going to be put in PS prison for this, but it's worth the risk... click.

Looks like the sparkly shadows Shiseido used to make! Back in the Reagan era, I worked at Bloomingdale's and my friend at the Shiseido counter used to do my makeup on slow mornings. She had a dramatic flair and I really loved their colors. Sparkling white, green, and tan in vertical lines! Okay, but really it looked better than it sounds.

Im always bit into gem-mineral specimens. Here very saturated red spinel, clinohumite, pargasite, pyrite and hematite on marble.

And cobalt spinel with pargasite on marble.

just wondering how much does something like that cost
it is so beautiful, the earth did a fantastic job in creations like these/ all our gems

Sounds fabulous.

I will confess that I bought relative duplicates since Shiseido has, at least for now, stopped making eye shadow. Will I wear it? I don't know - makeup isn't part of my routine. But by gum I have a new set!

Oh they sound divine! Shiseido and Guerlain were the first "luxury" cosmetics I ever bought, because they were available in the Japan and France pavilions (respectively) in EPCOT/Disney. Those were fun days!!

Its difficult to tell a price. Depend on time (year), situation (how much interest recently was on such), the person who sell it, it can be quite a wide range! To find one with that many different minerals, all very well saturated and crystalized, no damage. Thats very rare. I watched thousands of such stuff over many years and many travels and that one is a very fine piece. The price was very moderate. But how should I count the time for search? The history with that people I bought it from. Some people with problems I helped out many times and later, sometimes years later something comes back. How should I calculate that into that moderate price?
To tell a price I first would need to visit one or two big mineral shows to may get bit of an idea about prices. What I paied for it I cant calculate because of a complex history. The money I paied for it was more a symbolic act.
