Setting question

Hi Everyone,
I’m looking for a setting similar to the one attached. It has to be cathedral with a hidden halo. The one on the photo has a hidden halo but it’s not cathedral. Has anyone seen anything like that recently? I was able to only find either hidden halo but not cathedral or cathedral but no hidden halo. Thank you!

Yes. We've never had any complaints about them from posters or from long-time members. I can't find it with the search, but we helped someone design a ring just like this.

Do you already have a diamond or looking to buy the diamond and setting at the same location (always wise)?

Just be mindful that depending on the profile (side view) a flush wedding band can be difficult.

Victor Canera makes a ring like this. This links to the non-cathedral version, but he'd change it to cathedral. I just can't recall his policy on setting outside stones. I know you get a discount if you buy the stone and ring from him. His work is all hand-forged.

Ideally I would like to buy a stone and a setting from the same vendor. But do I need to buy a stone first, get it delivered, take a look at it and then send it back to set ? Is this the best flow ?

It will depend on the kind of band you want, but the Vatche Saran #1 is my pick of the bunch. The next two have diamond's in the bridge that will eat a band. The last one's prongs will block a band. WF will be able to tell you about the band fit on the Vatche setting. If it won't allow a flush band, you could get a quote from David Klass to make a ring inspired by the Vatche but allow a flush band.
