Setting opinions on a Y colored oval

Hi everyone! I have an oval Y colored diamond that I’m trying to figure out how to set. I think I’m hoping to play up the yellow. From my google “research”, it seems that a popular method of playing up the yellow is by bezeling it and putting it next to whiter diamonds but what I was leaning towards before I got to play with it in real life was this brushed gold setting.

oh, it is LOVELY! i LOVE the brushed gold setting, i think that will play up the color nicely. I wouldn't set it with whiter stones, she is gorgeous by herself and i'd let her be the star of the show!

I love your diamond! The color is breathtaking! I would definitely set it in that yellow gold setting by herself! Yum!

You can have a yellow gold cup added to enhance the color as well.

Heres a thread of @KKJohnson's beauty, which is a marquise shaped lovelie.

Another yes to the yellow cup or a yellow gold bezel around the stone, if you do a white diamond halo. Diamonds by Lauren does a ton of these and it really plays up the yellow. I have a ring from them that's an end of the alphabet but it is enhanced by the setting. Mine is below. I gave you two photos because the second shows the yellow gold bezel clearly.IMG_20180924_091826389.jpgIMG_20180924_091836748.jpg

Oh yes! I'd definitely bezel it with YG! Not a Y, but (close enough) a U-V OEC in YG bezel with white diamonds surrounding:

I love that brushed yellow gold setting that you posted...ugh, I love the one msop posted also! Tough choice! Both lovely!

I adore the brushed gold setting BUT I do think the setting @msop04 posted would also really help bring out the yellow in the diamond. Though I don't think you can go wrong with either setting. I think with either setting the yellow cup idea is excellent!

I also like the MSOP setting but I like the 3 stone idea too. I am not a fan of the brushed gold setting personally. In other words, I like the contrast of white diamonds next to the Y diamond which is gorgeous.

I can’t wait to see what you decide on.

Love the idea of a true yellow gold setting with bright white diamonds for the halo. I think the contrast between the bright white small diamonds and the yellow oval would be gorgeous!

IMG_1998.JPG This is my Q OEC set with a yellow gold shank, set with a yellow gold basket and a platinum halo. The yellow gold basket set off the color of the stone. Your stone would look fabulous set with a yellow gold basket with a platinum halo! Wow!!! I would definitely play on the color of that beautiful stone! Buttery delicious.

Your ring is seriously gorgeous!

Ugh that diamond is absolutely delicious

I would go for the gold as it were with this CvB setting. Or the second style by David Klass. They’re both under my “saved” settings. ❤️

Those are both so gorgeous—I was actually really considering the first one and setting it east west but I love it most with a rose cut and have therefore put it on my future jewelry goals (more likely fantasy) list.

IMG_0323.JPG And this is my K set in a brushed yellow gold setting.

Sooo stunning! And even more tempting is how very different in style it is from my other rings. Thanks for sharing.
