Seeking advice - Tiffany Novo replica

Hello all,

I've been reading the forum for a couple of weeks and I'm still a little overwhelmed. I really like the Novo style but the blue box has no value to me and my fiance-to-be. Hence, I'm looking to maximize my $ by buying elsewhere.

I figured out I need an 8 thin main modern square cushion. Or a square H&A cushion. Am I right on this? That's where I get overwhelmed - I'm not sure how to go about searching for these features. Maybe you could point me toward some examples. Setting-wise is there one you all like that resembles the Novo setting or is even better? They all look so similar to me.

(my budget is $25k including the setting. I would like to be at 1.5 carat or higher, G color or higher).

Good Old Gold has square H&A stones and can call in other modern cushions for you. They check light performance and will provide you with a comparison video. I think they are the best source of modern cushions, personally. They carry Vatche who makes a Novo replica as well. I don't see any square H&A (Brellia) with the specs you need, but they may be able to get one in as well as other square modern cushions. I would call and ask for Jonathan.

About 2 months ago, I was in the same boat that you are currently in right now...my gf also really liked the Tiffany Novo, and as such, I also embarked on a quest to create the perfect Novo replica

Long story short, after a lot of searching, I managed to find a decent 8 thin main modern cushion and I ended up pairing it with the Novela setting from BGD:

To aid in your search, please consider the following:

1) a modern cushion will look different than a square H&A Brellia...to me, a modern cushion has a certain shape and depth to it that cannot be matched by the square H&A Brellia

2) for the same carat weight, a modern cushion will face up larger than a Brellia, but the Brellia will have better light performance

3) if you go with a Brellia, be prepared to pay a price premium

4) many people say that once a Brellia is mounted, it looks like a round brilliant

For a Novo replica, I'd recommend getting a modern cushion brilliant...either an 8 thin main modern cushion (VERY hard to find these days but closer to the look of the actual Novo) OR a 4 main modern cushion (easier to find and in many cases will look fairly similar to the Novo to the untrained eye)

I had the most luck finding 8 thin main modern cushions when I searched for stones with tables 54%-56% and depths 64%-66%...but if you let WF, GOG, ERD, or BGD know what you're looking for, they should be able to find you some nice modern cushions

If you can wait, BGD will be getting in a new batch of 8 thin main cushions towards the end of this month

Thanks for the quick replies Very useful stuff. I now have a much better idea what type of modern cushion to look for.

What do you all think of this stone? It's well below my budget. I guess because of the color. Worth considering? I'm more comfortable with H after watching some GOG videos.

Thanks for the advice all. I went through with it and ended up finding something nice and well under budget with the help of Mark at ERD.

Here are some pics from a photo session. It's somewhat dirty since we hadn't prepared the ring beforehand for these photos.

Now onto looking for a wedding band...
