I work my butt off for my company and this year I think they finally are compensating me for it in the way that I love. ...
Please view my new 6.8 carat diamond bracelet. VS stones no idea of color or cut . The appraisal (which I know is from the jeweler and I will get it appraised myself) is coming tomorrow.

I am just thrilled that my boss knows me so well. He gave me $$$ so my husband is happy and jewelry to make me smile. Thoughts I think he said .20 pointers size 6 . 34 stones.
Thoughts I am so thankful however the pricescoper in me needs to know the specs am I looking a gift horse in the mouth.. I'm adding an addendum. I used to buy gold for a living with this bosses first company. We had a traveling Diamond buying group that traveled the country buying collectibles, diamonds and gold. So maybe this background makes it a little less
weird

The bracelet looks beautiful! I do think it is a different sort of bonus but if it is something you will love and wear then good for you!!

I’d be more comfortable with the idea, if his wife picked it out for me...lol!!

It’s gorgeous!! Enjoy the gift!!
Work well appreciated!!
Please come back, after you meet with the appraiser!! We ALL want more deets!!!
:kiss2:

Ah. If the company is related to the jewelry business it makes it less weird. Otherwise I think of jewelry as a sort of intimate gift. I’d feel similarly weird if my boss got me clothes or shoes or perfume. Basically anything that touches my body would feel like a weird gift from a boss lol.

He knew that I wanted a tennis bracelet for my 60th which is 1/9 and that my family was chipping in. So we had gone to one of his diamond dealers during visit to one of our stores, and said the jeweler could have it made for me for $3000 and I agreed and then he told me it was the companies pleasure that I worked so hard for them and that my family could buy me another gift.

Ermagherd I have the same birthday and theres also going to be a zero at the end of my age!!!

Wear it in good health. Its beautiful on you!

Given the back story it doesn't seem weird that your boss gave you this gift. In fact it seems very sweet. The bracelet is gorgeous and looks beautiful on your wrist.

Not weird, how wonderful and special! I've helped my boss pick out jewelry for his assistant before, and it was just out of appreciation- to show that he noticed her great style and wanted to give her something she liked. She was AMAZING, so I'm sure you are amazing too!!!

Beautiful bracelet!

Ah the background makes it even less weird.
I work in a hospital and if my boss had been like “surprise! Here’s a diamond tennis bracelet” I’m pretty sure people would be raising eyebrows, and I’d be one of those people lol.

Happy Happy birthday. I work out eat right and don't have too many gray hairs but 60 is still a big birthday .....Glad to share it with a diamond enthusiast like myself. :Up_to_something2:

Yes! Alright. Then it seems ok. Btw. Joss has good taste. Bracelet is awesome! Wear the heck out of it.

Beautiful and not weird at all in context :kiss2:
(though, as other have opined, probably very weird in most other contexts! :mrgreen2:)

Congratulations on a well-deserved bonus, wear it in good health!

It is a beauty! Congratulations!

I felt I should read before commenting. I feel than in this context it is not at all weird. Happy birthday and congratulations on such a stunning bracelet! Enjoy

Happy birthday!!! Very nice!

What a bracelet!! Happy Birthday!

@heididdl - Hey! Tell your boss you need an assistant and then let us know ‘cause one of us would gladly come help you if we get paid both in $$$ and bling .

That’s a great idea!

DW's 7" sapphire bracelet doesn't have much bend, so the extension chain is only 6 3/4" long to keep the "bracelet" pulled into her neck. Any longer and it doesn't lie flat, tends to sag in the middle. It might be more aptly described as a choker rather than a necklace.

I'm pretty sure you will not have a problem with your gorgeous bracelet lying flat, so the only constraint on the length of the chain would be to make sure the clasps don't become too visible. DW actually prefers to wear hers on her neck, so hopefully this idea would work just as well for you. :)

I work in the jewellery industry. If anyone would like to let my boss know that I would accept diamonds in addition to a monetary bonus that would be great :D

Doesn’t sound weird to me!

Looks beautiful!!!! Congratulations on your new bling!!
