Search function woes

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong with the search function, please? If I type in something like "spinel" in the search box at the upper right of the page and simply click "Search" it will spit out several pages of results, many with "spinel" in the thread title. But, if I type in "spinel" and then click the box for "Search titles only" it says there are no results to be found. Similarly if I click the "Search this forum only" box. What's going on or what am I doing wrong?

There are options at the top of the results list:

All Community Blogs Wiki Journals

I don't get much come up on All but click on Community and plenty come up!

It's weird!
