Not jewellery related, however, Royal Mint in the UK has a set of commemorative coins to celebrate the 75th birthday of the Princess Royal, my favourite; and I have bought a 2-coin set.
Why oh why did they choose the dreadful pine cone tiara when they could have chosen the more elegant Greek Key or the festoon???

Has the actual portrait been released? It look beautiful!
I miss the times when the courts would release formal portraits of the various family members in jewels, orders and decorations. I don't think Catherine has ever posed in a tiara yet!

Oh yes, of course I've seen this one! But it's not the type of photo I had in mind.
What I long to see is the type of formal portrait the likes of Cecil Beaton, Lord Snowdon, Erwin Olaf or Mario Testino would've taken. All posed in a formal and carefully thought out setting, not casually posing in your back yard on the way to dinner with the French president
Here's an ode to past portraits

This lady does amazing historical videos and posted this one. Isn’t this amazing? It looks like LA or another warm region by the plants.
have you guys seen this from @RRfromR
not sure if it has royal connections but it sure is pretty !

its really cool that it has an owner who loves it and it hasnt been broken up
sloppy of Sotheby's to not notice its pedigree nor bothered to photograph it to its best
I love Moon Honey and her vids! I've been following her for an year or so and she recently replied to (a rather informative) comment I made. Definitely felt special!
Yes, the Cartier headband/bandeau vid was pretty cool.
My rant has been heard by BP and a new portrait of the Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Tim Laurence has been released ahead of her 75th birthday next week. The photograph was taken by Chris Jackson for Getty Images last month before the French State Banquet.
The Princess Royal is wearing jewels that have been gifted to her over the years - the necklace and earrings were a birthday present from her parents, the tiara was a present for christening a ship and the brooch was a present from her elder brother for her first wedding.
HRH is also wearing the Order of the Garter and the family orders of Queen Elizabeth II and HM the King.

@Daisys and Diamonds
How did I not know about this thread? I found it today accidentally. It's fantastic! I hope to find time to start from the beginning!
I read many royalty threads on another forum, and also, watch a lot of YouTube channels. I love royalty and pageantry, and there's no better example than the current traditions upholding Queen Elizabeth's legacy with grace.
Best wishes today!
i love the pineflower, i hope it goes back to the royal vault rather than end up on the auction block one day especially as it was a gift to the Queen mum from her King
