Not jewellery related, however, Royal Mint in the UK has a set of commemorative coins to celebrate the 75th birthday of the Princess Royal, my favourite; and I have bought a 2-coin set.

Why oh why did they choose the dreadful pine cone tiara when they could have chosen the more elegant Greek Key or the festoon???

DK :))

Has the actual portrait been released? It look beautiful!
I miss the times when the courts would release formal portraits of the various family members in jewels, orders and decorations. I don't think Catherine has ever posed in a tiara yet!

Don't think so about the Princess Royal's portrait being released.

One of the glossy magazines had a cover with Catherine in a tiara, and it is dreadful IMHO, as it looks nothing like her. She looks kind of oriental, if you know what I mean. :roll2:

i looked at that coin that DK posted and thought that had to be one of the nicest images of a person ive ever seen on a coin

there are really good
this one is no exception
everything featured here except one thing is now in the present Duchess of Gloucester's jewel box

@prince.of.preslav have you seen this post and pic?

DK :))

Oh yes, of course I've seen this one! But it's not the type of photo I had in mind.
What I long to see is the type of formal portrait the likes of Cecil Beaton, Lord Snowdon, Erwin Olaf or Mario Testino would've taken. All posed in a formal and carefully thought out setting, not casually posing in your back yard on the way to dinner with the French president ;)

Here's an ode to past portraits

I love Moon Honey and her vids! I've been following her for an year or so and she recently replied to (a rather informative) comment I made. Definitely felt special!

Yes, the Cartier headband/bandeau vid was pretty cool.
