On the subject of British tiara hair, I think I should mention Sophie Wessex at the Danish Crown Princely wedding in 2004. She even went an extra mile with some nice turn-of-the-century combs:

I would like to see this hairstyle with the new remodeled version of her wedding tiara.

Guys, this is addictive! There are so many great examples of hair sculptured designed to nest a tiara! Here's an example from the the former Princess Alexandra of Denmark and Queen Alexandrine's diamond drop tiara some 20 years ago:

Bonsu: Her lovely diamond and amethyst necklace and earrings.

In Daisy's own words her hairdresser likes playing around with her hair while creating the perfect do for her tiaras. Here's what they came up with in 2000 for the floral aigrette.

And Daisy herself had a little game with the jewels - the choker is actually a bracelet and the floral pendant is a totally separate piece. The earrings, on the other hand, can be worn in various settings, this being one of the more conventional ones.

Princess Martha-Louise wearing one of the diamond collet necklaces and Crown Princess Martha's diamond chandelier earrings at the pre-wedding gala for Infanta Cristina and Iñaki Urdangarin in 1997. She also sore the necklace at the wedding itself on the following day.

The Infantas Elena and Cristina have shared these emerald pendants at least once.

The pendants come from this brooch, which was part of the collection of the Countess of Barcelona (their grandmother) and probably formed part of a stomacher belonging to Queen Amalia of Portugal.

Yes, addictive!:D

Not sure about this one on Alexandra though. The hairstyle should set off the tiara, not overpower it. when I see this picture, I think hair first then tiara. It should always be the other way around!

Tiara hair is like hot sauce...add what you need to enhance the flavor of the food, but don't overpower it. Have the tiara hair enhance the appearance of the tiara, not overpower it.

This one, however, totally works! It looks like the aigrette is woven into the hair. This hairstyle would look great with the Pearl Poire Tiara too!

I tend to agree here. This was meant to show creativity with the hairstyle, not necessarily declare it perfect tiara hair.
She went for more conventional tiara hair later on:

Who needs jewels when you’ve got tennis like those!?!

Ok so it is no secret, I am not a fan of high end purses or tennis shoes. Thus, with rare exception, I can not identify the makers of these things unless the logo or name is obvious. So I am assuming that the little girl’s purse and tennis shoes are $$$. What brands are these and what is the cost? I am curious.

Dior sneakers, Nano purse.

I think it’s one of those “if you have to ask...” things.

Gosh, never heard of Nano! Told you all I am not a designer label person. I’m pretty clueless about posh cars too! :lol-2:

Next week in my area we are supposed to get massive ice and snow. There is already talk of going to online learning. Stay tuned...there may be some #tiarateaching next week! ;-)

The science teacher here hears "nano" and automatically thinks of something very small. Therefore, I think that brand name is a bit of a misnomer.

How old would see be here ?
I'd love to have seen the younger BRF ladies break out the sparkles for family weddings
I guess we get Ascot hats instead ! (Not complaining)

Edit: she was +/- 26 at the time.

Fun fact is, the once young members of the Windsor clan did wear diamonds and grand jewels at family weddings.

I wish they would reintroduce white tie weddings in the UK or at least the Dutch dress code from Prinsjesdag!

Queen Sonja wore the same necklace + impressive pendant at the 100th birthday celebrations for Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother.

Some of Queen Victoria's mourning jewelry hitting the auction block

image.jpeg 288c60676ad590ede946c2bee5074fa2.jpeg

Morbid but pretty!
There are some other cool jewels in the auction, too, like a Tuti-Frutti set and a yellow diamond brooch.
