Hi there,

First time poster, after spending 2 months reading all information on the forum, I need to open my own topic.
I have been looking at engagement ring, with a round diamond between 0.6-0.7 ct married to a Pave Ring.

Carat - 0.63 ct
Color - J
Clarity - VVS2
Cut - Excellent
Fluo - Strong Blue
GIA Certified

I have read a lot about Strong Blue Fluo that can be hazy, milky etc but mostly on high color and larger diamond.
Unfortunately the diamond needs to be ordered in store to be checked out.

Does anybody could provide feedback for a diamond above?
Should I pass and look for a .6 / J / VS2 / Excellent / None or Faint Fluo for the same price range ?

Thank you very much for your help,

We would look at the cut of the stone first before commenting on color, clarity and fluro. Can you please post the crown and pavilion angles and the table size?

A J combined with strong fluo is a love or hate thing I guess.

It really transforms depending on the lighting condition and viewing angle. It is tinted from the side, especially under warmer indoor lighting. It is face up white under daylight. It may glow blue under direct sunlight. I personally adore J or K colored stone with strong+ fluo.

Of course, some people just cannot do J, or strong fluo, or both.

It really depends on your taste.
If return is unconditional, why not bringing it in for inspection and get a refund if you dislike it.

Here are the diamond's proportions.

Yikes - not a well cut stone. The fluor is the least of your worries...

HCA = 5.5 (good only if price is your main criterion).

Nope, the cut rules it out. I love strong blue fluorescence, but not this diamond.

These are measurements to help you stay in ideal cut territory with a GIA excellent cut stone.

table: 54-58

depth: 60-62.3

crown angle: 34-35.0 (up to 35.5 crown angle can sometimes work with a 40.6 pav angle)

pavilion angle: 40.6-40.9 (sometimes 41.0 if the crown angle is close to 34)
