Rough culet?

Hey All! Need your opinion on something. So I went to a local jeweler and was looking to trade in my pear diamond, ofcourse I knew I was going to be totally low balled.....but when the jeweler came back with the low value, he said it was partially due to a rough culet. The GIA report states no culet, but apparently it’s visually rough and not a polished point. It didn’t look chipped in his opinion. Has anyone heard of this? Is this normal, or something that actually degrades value?
