Hello folks!
So, a lovely PSer informed me that a jeweler they follow on instagram made this lovely rose cut penguin diamond pendant.
What do you guys think? I'm not very well versed in rose cut diamonds (or really, any diamonds for that matter), so I'm deferring to the knowledgeable folks on PS.

I don't know if that link works. Hopefully it does.
The seller's instagram is Parksfinegroupinc

My DH and I had been saving for a really nice pair of earrings. I was thinking about getting a pair of Van Cleef earrings as one of my HG items.

Is this a rare and stunning pendant? Or, should I save up for the big purchase of earrings.

Thanks!

Also: Do you folks think this size will have enough presence on my neck. Thanks!

Hi, I have bought from Alex before. I like him. I have purchased loose stones and an antique bracelet. His pricing is fair and competitive.

However, once it's gone, it's gone. You will have to be quick usually.

Another member is having David Klass make a turtle. This is another good option. With David, you can change the design as you want and pick your stone.

As to size, not sure the mm measurements or your frame. That's all relative.

On the question of save for earrings or the necklace, they are very different. The pendant is whimsical and a little quirky. The VCA earrings will be much more expensive and more classic. What are you more drawn to?

Rose cuts are unique and most either like them or do not like them. Personally, I would continue to save up for the nice earrings. And in the future after taking care of the basics, then revisit the idea of a rose cut stone.

Just my opinion, for what it’s worth.

That's what I was thinking. Once it's gone, it's gone. Alex has been kind enough to hold it for me until tomorrow morning. My DH will take a look at it. I know I've been gunning for a pair of VCA earrings. It's just that the penguin is sorta my 'emblem' with my husband. I made a motion once that reminded him of a penguin, and the title has stuck since. However, I don't have a classic pair of earrings either. So, the VCA would be the ones for me. They are very expensive - so that's what we're saving up for. We're almost there. The purchase of this penguin would set us back a bit.

That's a very good point. What are some of the qualities that people like? I know PSers have introduced me to drool worthy cuts that I never really thought about before, so I'd love to hear more discussion on this particular cut.
But more so, I would like feedback on whether THIS particular rose cut is a good one. I don't know how to judge this one as I believe rose cuts vary in their facet numbers etc etc.

Thanks for your opinion. I'm really torn. I think the earrings would be wonderful. Maybe I could commission Alex to make another one for me in the future? I just like how unique this necklace is.

They’re very sparkly in the video however, you would need to see the pendant to determine if you really like it or not. I’m sure you could have one made in the future, just keep a photo of the pendant. The pendant is a bit whimsical and I feel that completing your collection of basic classics is more beneficial. Again, just my opinion.

If it were me, I'd consider how long purchasing the penguin would set me back from the earrings. If I really loved the penguin, and it was only going to set me back less than six months or so, I'd go for it. If it were more than 6 months, I'd have a harder time. If you've loved the earrings for a while, that may be the way to go. My advice is follow your heart!!
