How Moore managed to get 10 votes amazes me. Jimmy Kimmel was hysterical last night when he told Moore "God decided, it's over".

Arkieb, Many of us would like to see decency return to the White House.

Some Christians do not believe in swearing on what was referred to as a "Christian Bible", by the way. Jehovah's Witnesses and members of The Society of Friends (Quakers) do not do that. If asked to swear on a Bible they say, "I will not swear, but I will affirm" and many oaths are already worded to ask, "Will you swear or affirm?".

The two main parties here in Australia wouldn't touch a candidate like that. The fact he was allowed to run and got so many votes, forget stupid, there is something badly broken in the US. Just look at your President.
 
I was a notary for awhile and that is true. You do not have to swear. You can also "affirm" which carries the same legal weight. As far as swearing on something other than a Bible, I have not personally seen it, but I don't know if that's due to common practice.

Oh gosh, thank you for sharing that. Very "I'm not racist, I have a black friend!". And I still laughed when I saw the Ted Crockett part. When I first watched it I thought the screen had frozen - and then I saw him blink LOL.
