I recommend this to everyone, but especially if you're going to shampoo, definitely invest a good hairbrush. Mason Pearson has one that's about $100, and Target has a knockoff that is actually pretty good. A good hairbrush with border bristles or synthetic bristles that work like boar bristles will help distribute oil, comb out dust and dead skin cells, and overall make the transition a lot easier. I'm not "no shampoo" at this point in my life, but I do use sulfate free shampoos and do my best to avoid any harsh styling or chemicals.
