Hi all. I am in a bit of a quandary in deciding the best course of action to resize my wife's platinum Ritani "endless love" pave matching WB & ER (pictured below). The problem is that I wish to have the rings fit more snugly, as they are spinning, but going down one size (i.e., a quarter-size) is problematic for the below reasons.
Long story short, the rings are now at a size 4. I recently sent the rings to Ritani & they resized them for free from a 4.25 to a 4 (all I had to pay was $50 to my Ritani-authorized B&M for shipping insurance). The problem that arises is that my wife has slightly larger knuckles and very slim fingers. The size 4 is perfect to fit over her knuckle, but they are still spinning when on her finger (and even in warmer weather, not just colder). I think that she needs to go down another size. However, she tried on one of the B&M's plastic sizers at size 3.75, and she could just barely fit it over her knuckle. She felt that this was too tight and not comfortable or practical in taking them on & off.
I have the option of asking the B&M bench to add a few sizing beads (or horseshoe, or bridge, etc). However, I do not want to go this route, as it would void the Ritani manufacturer's warranty.
I have searched a number of threads and reviews regarding plastic "snuggies" (such as these: http://www.amazon.com/Ring-Guard-RING-NOODLE-MINI/dp/B00EPMXMJU), but these do not seem to be a good, long-lasting solution (and I find them to be less than attractive). Also, I am worried that the snuggies will not fit snugly on these particular rings, as my wife's bands are VERY thin (1.8mm).
I apologize if this post is confusing on my part. However, any advice from the knowledgable PS'ers out there would be greatly appreciated!
I was thinking that the problem might be attributable to the fact that the B&M's plastic sizer was not as thin as the 1.8mm bands (the B&M had no 3.75 rings in stock... however, the sizer was not too incredibly thick). Do you think that attempting to find a similar Ritani 3.75 band in stock & trying this on her would be a smart idea before sending the rings back to Ritani and having them size them down to something that might be too tight? Would it be sufficient to just have her try on any thin size 3.75 ring (if the B&M continues to have no Ritani band in stock)? Thank you in advance!
