Last year I had a custom replacement setting made for my antique stone from my engagement ring. I've worn it up until recently. My 1st and only daughter was born last October, Hubby and I have recently decided to put my ring away for our daughter to ensure that nothing happens to it. So, I decided I wanted to replace it with a semi inexpensive set, probably an aquamarine since we were married in March. But I've always loved Sapphires most, it's my birthstone and blue iS my favorite color. While out and about today I seen a beautiful sapphire solitaire. The stone I fell in love with, the setting is yg.. not something I would have chosen. . But fell in love reguardless. Anyway.. here's some not so great pics. It's a 7.11×8.77mm oval 14kt yg.

The top of the shank is also very thin for my fat finger.. but I guess that gives me more room to stack lol. I just gotta decide if I want a curved band, a straight with a big gap or a thin straight band to slide under the basket n sit flush.

Very pretty! :appl: Congratulations!

Thank you! It was dirt cheap too! I couldn't believe it. The original tag on it was $350 and before I could say anythung, he told me I could have it for $200

Pretty ring at a great price! Are you going to wear a wedding ring with it? If so, please show!

Thank you! I'm planning on it. I gotta try some stuff with it and figure out if I want a curved band to go around it, a regular band and have a gap.. or get something super thin that can slide under the basket n fit flush to the shank

Oh, fun. More bling shopping. Looking forward to seeing what you find.

Lovely ring, but it makes me a little sad that you decided to put your diamond ring away for safe keeping. I read once that diamonds are happier when worn, and I think your daughter would appreciate it more if she got to see you wearing it during her childhood.

Congrats, it's very pretty!!!

Really elegant on you. And.....HUGE for $200!!!!

I really love it and I don't even notice that it's yg anymore. According to the gemstone mm to ct chart I looked up.. it falls somewhere between 2 and 2.5ct. Hell, I was stoked at the $350 price lol. I have a vintage fillagree 3 stone ring that I don't like how it looks now that my fingers are a lot bigger, and would need to be sized up.. I'm thinking of taking the sapphire and 2 diamonds put of that and having a curved 3 stone dad made to go around the oval. So, diamond on each side and sapphire in the middle.

VERY artsy photos. I LOVE the last one. Such a pretty color blue - is it a natural sapphire?

The color looks even better in your recent pictures! Great find.

Yes, natural sapphire. Only has 1 tiny blemish visual, and that's a very small abrasion on the edge of a facet

Only looks huge cuz its a million times zoomed.
