You could, but it's unlikely a lab will change the assigned grade. If you stay with an AGS or GIA report you're largely safe. For 100% assurance send the diamond to an appraiser that specializes in the kind of assessment online shoppers are looking for: Neil Beaty (AGR in CO), Dave Atlas (AGA in PA), Rich Sherwood (SGL in FL) and Jeff Averbook (MJR in MA) all run the kind of boutique lab that maintain standards as strict as the majors and provide significant, customized info on the diamond. One nice thing about the PS "experience" is that you can buy a diamond based on strict grading andanalysis by a reputable seller and, if you like, have it sent to a top appraiser to make sure it checks out - all within the exam/return period.Date: 10/9/2007 6:35:49 PM

Is it possible to get a diamond re-certified? Lets say multiple appraisers didn't agree with a certification...can I send the diamond back to GIA (or whoever did the original certification) to get it re-certified?
