Radiant cut diamonds... where did you get yours?

I’m no expert when it comes to picking out diamonds and am very interested in getting a beautiful radiant. However, I feel this is one of the hardest cuts to shop for without knowing much about diamonds and their facet structure. Not to repeat old threads but for all the radiant cut owners, could you please post pics and share where you got your diamond from? It would be great to reach out to vendors who I know have quality radiants.

Hi

I love radiants! This is my journey

I live in Australia so have limited options. I went with James Allen simply because I loved the radiant that I ended up buying :kiss2: I have tried vendors in Australia but they were a lot more expensive, even though I wasn't looking for a large diamond.
@ClemsonPurdue 's journey might be of interest too =)2

Others here can help you find other vendors, there's a few that specialise in fancy cuts.

Enjoy! :mrgreen2:

Also, what setting are you thinking of?

Thank you! I have seen ClemsonPurdues post and have actually reach out to DBL. I know David is supposed to be good, but I’m curious about others too. I had actually seen CatMoms radiant and I’m wondering where she got hers from. It is so sparkly!

Just realized I forgot to answer your question about the setting. I’m hoping to get a custom made setting in rose gold with a simple pave band and hidden halo. A lot of these that I have seen are lifted and similar to a cathedral style. I’m thinking of going for something like that or I may completely skip the hidden halo and have diamonds on the prongs.

I had lots of help from a few experts here and found an amazing stone. They even helped perfecting the custom ER design :D you'll find lots of great information in my thread to help you get started.

What's your budget and which specs do you have in mind? Do you want lots of sparkle or wider facet pattern (see @ClemsonPurdue and my radiant for the difference)?

I (and many others) like to visualise, so post photos of what you (don't) like.

Do you have pics of the settings you're thinking of?

The budget is 20-25k for the diamond with total budget being 30k. I’m looking to get a diamond that faces up in the 2-3 carat range with cut being the most important factor. I’m not too color sensitive as long as the diamond looks white to me and is eye clean. I’m also looking for a radiant that sparkles a lot. I don’t want a wider facet pattern. Frankly, I’m looking for the sparkliest diamond I can get. That’s what initially drew me to the radiant cut even though I know people say a round sparkles the most. The thing is I have actually identified a radiant and cushion cut diamond at another vendor and it was a tough call between the cushion and radiant but I put the cushion on hold. I wasn’t planning to settle on a diamond so soon but it was a stunning diamond and I was afraid to risk losing it. Now I’m trying to make sure there isn’t anything better than what I selected. For reference I have included pics of the diamonds I saw at the vendor and the cushion I have on hold. I will try to post a video of the cushion cut later today if I am able to find a way to mute the sound.

As for the kinds of settings I have in mind, I have added a few links:

I will say with the setting I’m hoping to get diamonds on it that sparkle. I have been very unimpressed with a lot of the settings I have seen in general. I find that the diamonds don’t sparkle and just blend into the metal
