I wanted to get your thoughts on these halos. The choice is between their hand made pave halo and pave halo & shoulder

Now based off the CADS, id pick the hand made one, but if you look at the pictures, it makes it more difficult

the pave one im not sure about the quality.

the other one, i like better, but only in some of the photos. Sometimes it looks thin and sleek, sometimes it looks bulky. Note these two photos. they are about the same CTW too .

Is it kind of a toss up on the quality of the sholders one? or has it been updated and thinned out? is the better one version 2.0??

which would you pick? and why?

I personally like the first one better. It's more delicate, adds sparkle to the diamond without putting a solid "frame" on it. To my eye it's more elegant.

I like the first one better as well, looks more sleek and shows less metal.

See but I'm not sure I agree. Less metal on the sides sure, the second has that ribbon of metal. But the pave work looks more delicate in the second, and the first seems to look abut wonky and I see a lot of metal where the shank meets the head.

Also it's for a marquise. So I'm leaning towards the second IF it's certain to look like the better version because I think the smooth edges flatter the lines of the stone.

In my mind it seems to look a lot like a ritani, which I think worked well with my old pear, so I think would have the similar effect here.

But maybe the first one looks better in real life? Or does anyone know if the shoulder one is guaranteed to actually look like the more flattering version.

I dunno. These are the things I'm tossing around.

I like the second one much better. I don't like that type of pronging on the pave of the first one: though there is technically less metal in it, the profile view has a metal-toothy look that I don't find as attractive or as delicate looking as the second one. This is true in real life of the settings I've seen, though I'm sure there are some manufacturers who pull off the first type of pronging more delicately. I agree that the second one looks very much like the old Ritani setting for your pear.

Yeah I agree with your points. We had it pretty much planned to go with the first one. Then I got to obsessively watching the vids and looking at the pictures and now I don't think it's the one.

I think the points of the marquise might benefit from a distinct edge on the halo.

I'm hoping someone will chime in who's gotten that halo recently. The SA says it's delicate, but I'm worried which version will come back, KWIM

I'd also like to hear from anyone who got the first one, as I'm not sure if their photos are accurate. Hmm

Any other thoughts welcome. :wavey:

I like the second one. To me it's more subtle, delicate and prettier. But I also think it's completely subjective -- just two different looks. Can't wait to see what you do!

I think youre right, it is personal preference. Thanks

do you think one flatter the shape more than the other. Here are some pinterest ive found. do you think one style looks more appropriate than the other?

not that i am suggesting you go to Ritani but I just think there micro pave are just beautiful. When my nephew and I were looking at halos weather it be square or round of for marquis we didnn't see anything in JA we liked

If this was mine i would, as i used to have a ritani halo, and youre right, the pave is spectacular.

But he wants to get all from one place. And honestly their CAD halo with the sholders looks just terrible, but the more current pics of it seem very delicate to my eyes.

I like the versions without the bezel around the marquise because it's a softer look.

oh i forgot to add, ignore the bezel. I was talking about the different pave styles. the ribbon of metal round the bead set pave, or the french set type-ish.

Thanks for your imput! BTW
