Questioning my engagement purchase- Need Advice

Hi All,

I wanted to give a quick update

Everything was returned to Zales with a full refund. I used the- I found out I was suppose to do a hand me down ring from her grandmother this past weekend at a family party excuse

The guy who sold me the ring did not even remember me. Now I just need to cancel the credit card

Drove out to Good Old Gold on Friday with lots of traffic
my wax sample was not in yet, but on its way while I arrived
Jonathan- gave me a full detailed look into the diamond I reserved, what a fun experience.

I ordered everything & let good old gold take care of all the diamonds, even the side stones & side diamonds.

now just working against time, I will send an update once complete

Congrats. If GOG said they could meet your deadline, then I am sure they will.

Surprised to see the color is E, in the link in your OP the color was I. However, the GOG diamond is twice the size.

You'll be speechless to know it's NOT E. LOL

OP - good thing you questioned your purchase. Coming to this forum and googling your gut intuition ... you've already made the first choice in getting yourself a better Ering. Now, GOG is gonna really take care of you!

I was in the same boat as you (sorta). I bought a P-cut stone from a wholesaler, and something didn't sit right with me.. before that I did some research on PS, but then had to start from scratch when I found I was sold a shit stone. Months later, my fiancee still says her stone/ring is the best of all her friends and co-workers!

That's what I figured...

The certification for the current ring, who is that by? It doesn't look like a GIA cert and if so you can't compare it to GOG diamond.

Exactly what I was going to say. I'm guessing the current stone would be an I by GIA standards. I too personally like the stuller one, but get which one you think SHE would like best. One benefit of the stuller setting is that you can get it with X1 white gold (no rhodium plating).

Chris I was nearly in your exact shoes and thanks to this wonderful community & GOG i'm currently waiting on a ring purchase that I'm actually confident in giving to my s/o. I will agree with everyone you're certainly fortunate to be in such close proximity to the gog b&m store, I on the other hand am across country and awaiting shipment (boooo....)

regardless man solid move & I think your s/o will be excited you took the time to do some research and got the most bang for your buck! goodluck with the proposal and future marriage man and have fun in the caribbean!
