Found a 1.65 unheated color change sapphire. It is a beautiful blue in natural light and a light violet indoors. What do you guys think. I only have video of it soon cant post them up here.

yep
I love him and I have found that his photos actually often undersell the stones. Definitely get it home and take a look.

he also has a round 1.13 carat saphire that looks good. both of the sapphires from him ive posted are unheated and AGL certified.

Whatcha think?

I prefer round stones for the halo style ring. also the round is significantly cheaper.

The blue in the cushion is AMAZING :appl: It does appear to have a very pronounced color shift - much more so than the round.

Yes I thought the same. Very obvious color change. And both colors looked great to me.

Big difference is price and shape though.

So i have also come across what may end up being a nice vanadium chrysoberyl stone. Its 1.89 carats and GIA certified. Im just waiting on some more pictures of it before i make a decision.

Which one would you guys go for? The two sapphire stones are both very pretty (im leaning towards the cushion). But if the vanadium chrysoberyl turns out to be of good color i think i might go for it. It seems to be a very rare stone and would be a one of a kind engagement ring.

What are your thoughts?

Oh man I would kill for a nice vanadium. I'm about to ask you about it if you turn it down. So yes, I'd definitely consider that. I'd love to see a pic

Of the sapphires I like the cushion

Yes, I'm thinking the same. Will probably go with the Vanadium if it looks good. Will have no problem letting you know about it if I go another way.

If you do like it please show the pics too when the vendor gets back to you

Also, how much would either that chrysoberyl or the cushion sapphire leave you for a setting. I had an idea for a setting if you still wanted to do a three stone that should be in your budget, assuming you didn't blow it all on a stone ;-)

both stones would leave me about 1500 in the budget for a setting.

What would you think of something like this. I know the general price of this setting and I think it would be around 1500 in platinum

Which halo in platinum would you get for 1500? Also which does she prefer?

I have found a couple but havnt really narrowed one down yet. Want to choose a stone a first then focus on the setting.

Here are the three pictures of the Vanadium Chrysoberyl.

What do you guys think? Worth going for over the sapphire?

Yea, I tend to be lucky with stuff like this. Sent out a bunch of feelers like you said. Only one person had one and they just got it. Thanks for the help.

That's great, honestly if I wasn't so happy I'd be pretty jealous!

I know you had the ctw what's the dimensions of the stone? Is your 1500 firm? Does it have to be in platinum?

Ugh. This could have been such a long hunt for you I dont know how you managed it so quickly

Don't know the dimensions yet. I would like to stay 1500 and platinum. Want to keep it fairly simple and classic. Was even thinking solitaire with a stone of this size. Just to showcase it.
