Push present ideas for my expecting wife!

... make the sapphire part of the engraving. Like "baby XXX born October 2013) where the "O" or the "zero" is replaced by sapphires??? My 10 year anniversary band has a hidden diamond on the inside and we made the zero in "10 years" the diamond.

I really like this idea, Mili-Lani! This way, she's not "tied in" with several colors of birthstones that might clash worn together... She could also pick out the band she likes, but have a different style for each child!

...I'll have to remember this one for the future. :naughty: ;)

i had an idea.....
get her the smaller one if your not comfortable buying the more expensive one. The smaller one posted above with the full eternity sapphire and diamond bezel is 830, making it a half eternity so you can engrave something might take it down to 800....then you have a nice present for less... and if you wanted to spend more something like this would i think still be nice and not too cutsie

i really just wanted to see actual pics of the alternating bezel ring worn so i can get a feel for how it looks.. the memoire option i know how the quality is and ive worked with pearlmans before so im not worried there..

BGD offered to make the alternating bezel ring full eternity for another 125... making it about 2k. but this may cause sizing issues as i'm going off of her current wedding/e-ring of being size 5.

This thread was linked above which has pictures of the alternating bezels on a hand.

This is a similar band from IDJ which shows how it looks with colored stones:

Is this what you're looking for in terms of real life pictures?

I wouldn't go full eternity. Save money, one. And two there's a good chance over the years she might want to size it. Plus, you get to engrave it and I'm a sucker for that, I just think its so sweet.

If you go full eternity go up a half size in case her finger grows over the years. Mine went up from 7.25 to 7.75 over 33 years.

thanks for the feedback - that makes sense..

her other 2 rings are full eternity and still fit now.. but the memoire has a shared prong between the diamonds on the eternity so i guess there is room to change the size if needed.

.. i am weighing back and forth on both ring ideas. i think i def want to do a ring just deciding between the memoire to compliment her existing rings or the "baby" stack alternating bezel type with sapphires.

Can you all please suggest similar style rings through other jewelers for the 3/4 eternity alternating bezel ring with diamonds and sapphires? i want to see if other jewelers have something similar and perhaps even lower price before i drop close to $2k on it!

Thanks!

Just wanted to get additional feedback on the 3/4 eternity rings with diamond and blue sapphires. The Beverly K option is more expensive than the BG one. I'm looking to spend sub-2000.

Thanks!

Has anyone actually purchased the Brian Gavin alternating bezel eternity ring and provide their personal feedback? Are there any pictures of this specific ring on a hand - i wanted to get a feel for the size/dimensions..

aside from the beverly k option - any other jewelers that offer a similar ring with sapphires in alternating bezel?

They do the plain diamond one in
white gold $675
Yellow gold $675
Platinum $795
my guess it would be the same for the sapphire and diamond one :) i think this is stunning! I would love one with alternating diamond and aquamarine for my something blue.. hmm now theres an idea

I just wanted to bring up 2 things-

1) I would see if your wife has a strong preference to eternity bands vs. not-quite-eternity rings. My wedding band is an eternity and I now have 3 additional bands I stack with and they are all eternities as well and I would not throw a non-eternity into the mix.

2) Just as with wearing a thicker band, when you start stacking rings you do sometimes need to go up in size. My ring size is 6, but my wedding band is a 6.25 (it was a vintage piece not sizable, I figured my e-ring would keep it on and that I would be adding more bands.)

So if you want this ring to go on her left ring finger w/ her e-ring and wedding band, you might want her to try on a "stack" for comfort's sake.

You know how we keep linking you that thread where someone else got this as a push present? I'd go to that thread and ask your questions! :))

do we have the ability to send members a private message? i wasnt able to figure out how to do this..

Sorry, no

quick update - so my wife and i had our precious beautiful son. He is a week old and came 4 weeks early! I decided to go forward with a Beverly K eternity ring with sizing circle with inscriptions on both sides one with his name the other with his birth date. the larger stones are blue sapphires alternating with smaller diamonds. The blue sapphires are a lighter blue in color. I worked with Julian at Pearlman's on this order and he was awesome to work with! I look forward to posting pics once the ring comes in, which should tentatively be early october.

thanks for everyone's help!!

btw - what is that jewelry company where their pieces include small bears?

i found the bear company i was asking about it is called Tous.

My ring size has not gone up over the years, In fact, I've had to size down a quarter of a size for some rings. I suppose going a bit larger would be better that having a ring that's too small, but I can say from experience, that having a ring that's slightly too big, is very annoying.
Anyways, congrats on the new baby! :)
