Hello, I have a PURE welsh gold (stamped 750 CYM) ring which is 5mm width which has a single 1 carat diamond on it.
This ring was custom made and is something that wasn't bought out of a shop window. I'm wonder does anyone have any ideas of a ballpark value? Taking into consideration that welsh gold is no longer mined except for the Royal Family. A picture can be supplied if need be.
Thanks, Donna

There's a whole lot of information needed to assess worth that we don't have from your post. Diamond specs, gold weight, etc etc. Take it to an independent appraiser in your area and they can appraise it for you.

I don't know where you are but wonder if you can recommend anyone in the Chester area or surrounding?
A jeweller said the diamond is excellent quality, 1 carat and the ring is 18ct pure welsh gold, not sure if this helps.
Thanks for your reply x

I'm in Texas in the US, so not much help other than google, which found this woman: http://www.valuemyjewellery.co.uk/

There are way too many unaccounted for variables to give a price from "1 ct diamond, 18ct welsh gold." I personally have no idea if welsh gold affects the price at all. What definitely affects the price is the amount of gold, quality of craftsmanship, exact color of the diamond, exact clarity of the diamond, cut quality of the diamond, etc. An appraiser will be able to examine your ring and determine this stuff. That website does a pretty good job of explaining different types of valuations - whether you want it for insurance, to sell to someone else, a fair market value, etc, all affect what the appraiser will take into account.

With the information you have given me, I can say the value is somewhere between $1000 USD and $30,000 USD. That's a pretty big range and I can't specify any further than that.
