QT--
Wow, that''s going to be some party.
My vote is for more desserts since you seem to have alot of main dishes already.
Brownies are always a good choice (TJ has this great brownie mix that is heavenly if you don''t want to make from scratch).
Or you could try MrsS easy peanut butter fudge recipe
18.gif

How big is the party?
Remember to take lots of pictures!

Janine--
Awww....what a great mom.
Picking the kernels is enough work for me :)
I don''t think you have to worry about her choking on the kernels....since they are pretty small.
Poor C w/ her teething. Are these molars or the front?
Hehe, with more teeth, soon you don''t need to squeeze the kernels out of the skin.

MrsS--
Ooo...those recent pictures of Jake are so cute!
I particularly love the eating ones -- I didn''t know they can make such a mess eating.
Maybe I should ease up and let J enjoy her food like that.
J is drinking milk, though probably not as much as most kids.
I think she''ll take in 5-12 oz a day depending on her mood.

TGal--
I think you are right about A.
Like I said in your first video, she''s going to be a gabber.
You can hear that she''s talking alot, just haven''t figured out how to form the words yet.
My cousin was like that when she was younger. At one, she was just grunting and talking gibberish. We used to call her Japanese girl because she sounds like she''s talking Japanese.
Then overnight, she was just talking in fully audible words and sentences!

Curly--
I''m sorry to hear about your friend.
My thoughts to his family.
Lucy does grow up fast.....can''t believe she''s already taking steps.
Haha, she is a very happy kid, and I thought that I wouldn''t see a happier kid than Lily.
You must have eaten a good amount of chocolate when you were carrying your girls huh?

Puffy--
How cute that B tells the baby to kick.
Soon enough he''ll be able to feel it.
I''m so excited for you. I do hope that it''s 3 lines for you.

curly sorry to hear about your boss. the girls sound like they are doing very well. how adorable Lily is!!

janine definitely, there is always #3, that''s what DH keeps saying, and he''s hoping for it, as he wants 3 or 4 kids. easy for him to say, he is at work most of the time and by the time he gets home, B is off to sleep. sorry to hear about 4 teeth coming in at once. poor girl!

snlee how are you doing? hope you''re good and the family too. you''re moving into the new house soon, no?

burk is bedtime any better? it sounds rough. hopefully, it''ll resolve itself soon. don''t you leave soon for your vacay?

lili thanks, but i''m not holding my breath for 3 lines. i don''t know, i think my dreams are trying to tell me something, and that B already said he''s got a feeling it''s a brother in there, or a puppy. yes, he still thinks a puppy might be in there. i''ve asked a bunch of kids we know if they think i am having a boy or girl and they have all said boy. i''m not surprised though and definitely not going to be disappointed.

snlee: do you mean FB, how do I find you all?

curly: hi!! I''m so sorry about your boss, that is so tragic. So young too. I hope you all are able to continue his legacy--I''m sure you will being the superworking mom you are. Lily and Lucy are just model sisters, even if Lily can be mean sometimes (isn''t that what all big sisters do, hehe).

burk: thanks for the daycare information--that''s really what I was hoping to hear.

lili: haha on squeezing kernals. Good now that she has more teeth maybe I can stop b/c I can''t keep up (she eats them faster than I can pop them out!).

C has 2 top teeth up top that I can clearly see (one side fang tooth and one big front one), but my mother says she sees 2 more (the matching pairs!). Her gums are pretty swollen up top which might explain her extreme fussiness at times!!

Well how about this Puffy...I''ll call it a GIRL for you!

curly, I am so sorry for your loss. Sounds like your girls are doing great! I hope they are bringing you lots of happiness during this difficult time. Hugs.

Tgal~You don''t even know how big of a relief it is to hear that this has happened to someone else!! I kept wondering what happened to ruin our perfect little night time angel. This has been going on (off an on) for almost 2 weeks and I''m soooo over it. We''ve just let her cry for the most part because even if I do go in there and pat or try and lay down with her on the floor she is still hysterical and asking to go down stairs peeeese.
20.gif
Hopefully she''ll figure it out that her crazy tantrums get no results and quit soon. However, I''m not holding my breath. I''m pretty sure T is one of those kids where CIO would have never worked because of her will. It may take longer than two weeks.
7.gif

puffy~Bedtime is not much better. Just depends on the day. It''s hit and miss. We leave Friday morning for vacation. Really looking forward to my daughter, the sleep train wreck, during a week of vacation!
9.gif

janine~No problem! Maybe I''m just trying to convince myself, but I do think she benefits tremendously. Doesn''t hurt that she''s crazy social. Hope C''s teeth pop through soon!

Burk--
Is T especially clingy too?
I know kids can sometime sense that mommy is expecting and are especially difficult as a result of it.
My sister went through a few weeks of it w/ her son when she was carrying her second.
Hope she does better tonight since you need all the rest and sleep you can get.

Janine--

Burk, apparently it was really bad. It made me feel better because I just expect I will go through it with Amelia too. I may have to tell you offline what she did to get her to go to bed. Nothing worked. CIO, spanking, nada. It was the one and only time where I thought, whoa, that''s full on. Not anything I would ever do with my kid either. But she nipped it in the bud and got her angel back!

Wow, I hate to think what my little devil would be like when it comes time.
We are know J is no angel when it comes to sleep.

lili~Funny you should ask about her being clingy because it''s rather odd...she''s clingy as in, when I leave she freaks out. Even if I just leave the room she starts yelling "mommy, mommy?" However, if say my mom comes over, she wants nothing to do with me!
20.gif
Or the other day at the pool she refused to play with me but wanted to play with this other mom she didn''t even know. Weird. We haven''t even mentioned the new baby to her yet because it''s just too long for someone that young to have to wait and try and understand something so complicated but I wonder if she senses it? Or, I''ve wondered if she senses that I have to go back to work soon?

Tgal~Oh my, I need to hear this. Can you send me a message on FB to tell me about what she did when you have a chance?

That''s weird and funny.
Can''t believe your vacation is about up already.
Didn''t you just went on summer break?
How are you feeling? Any longer breaks from ms?

Message me too TGal. I need all the arsenal I can get w/ J.

tgal awwww, thanks!!

burk it must be tough to deal with T during those days or nights when she does not want to go to bed. well, at least if she''s kinda off track for your vacation, she won''t be back tracking when you guys get back home. did that make ANY sense? i have this calendar in B''s room and it basically marks the days until baby''s arrival. every morning when i get him, we go to the calendar and put a sticker on the day, so as the days pass, we mark it off. he kinda gets it, but he would love to fill up the calendar with stickers all in one day. and i let him pick the sticker he wants to use that day. and funny thing is sometimes when he just wants to play when it''s time for bed, i tell him if he doesn''t go to bed, he doesn''t get to put a sticker on in the morning. and he usually cooperates. how are you feeling?

Hi gang

just poppin in to say hello. I am leaving for my little getaway to NYC on thursday, as luck would have it Co currently has a very high fever, can''t eat, drink etc. and is miserable. At first i thought teeth, but it doesn''t look like it now. Thankgoodness iam still nursing a bit--it''s the only way i can get a bit of sustenance in him.
Kids really do have instinct for throwing a wrench into their parent''s fun plans
3.gif
. I have a mom-friend with 4 kids that swears by that theory & just read about it in an article i posted on another thread. I''ve been telling him iam leaving for a few days all week so i am sure he went and licked some kid''s snotty face at the gym daycare this week ;o)
I won''t go if he''s not better, or getting better by Thursday aft....so fingers crossed. We don''t have a lot of extra cash right now, this trip is a splurge for DH''s 30th and we pre-paid flight and hotel on a special that can''t be cancelled so it''ll *really* suck if we can''t go. I''ll send Charlie with my sister & her BF, who are also going if need be...
but enough whining...

Tacori, how is miss Tessa? Must be something going around on this continent

Puffy--i am guessing girl for you too!!!

Burk--urgh, hope you get your nightime angel back!!! Frustrating. Try to keep her on schedule on your vacay. Maybe all the beach play will wear her out and bedtime will come easier--fingers crossed. You and DH deserve the PM to yourself!!

Lili--for some reason thinking of sleep training J makes me giggle. I guess i just picture her jumping all over her floor-bed and taking off on you. She is too cute to associate with being b.a.d , but man, you will have your hands full

Hi to the rest of the gang
35.gif

lili~Yea, she''s a weirdo! I''m sad my summer break is almost over. It flew by so fast. I do look forward to the start of volleyball season and a reason to actually wear something other than my PJ''s, however!
16.gif
I have felt pretty bad in the evenings lately....a few nights ago I thought I might have gotten food poisoning even. But no, just MS!
20.gif
I''m 12 weeks Sunday so hopefully it''s on it''s way out the door!

puffy~That totally make sense and I agree. There would have been regression on vacation anyway, so I''m trying not to get too worked up over this phase. It''s just hard listening to her cry and cry. The only thing I have going for me is she has not yet learned out to crawl out of her crib! The sticker calendar sounds like fun. T LOVES stickers. Once I get far enough along for her to know something''s up and we have to explain it I may have to steal the sticker idea. I''m hoping that won''t be for a while...but at the rate I''m going (seriously already feel like I''m showing) who knows.

lili- Jake always make a mess when he eats. I feed him in his diaper and then usually it's straight to a bath right after dinner. I let him feed himself whatever we're eating and he gets as much on him as in him. But, he'll learn and I just don't have time to feed him and I don't think he'd let me feed him even if I did. He's all about doing it himself right now.

Puffy-good luck tomorrow and I can't wait to hear what you have having!!

curly-I"m so sorry about your boss. Cancer is devastating. We lost my 43 year old uncle to pancreatic cancer a couple of years ago and he left behind 2 small kids and a wife. Just so sad no matter what! I'm glad you checked in though and glad the girls are doing well. For the most part my girls are best friends but they do have those moments of really not liking each other.

Burk-I hope T does okay for you all on vacation. School starts here Aug. 10 so I feel your pain on how quickly the summer has flown by.

jas12-poor Cohen. I hope he gets better quickly so you can still go on your trip!

Just got back from a crazy shopping day with my 7 year old. Old Navy has an additional 50% their clearance items though and we made out. I got a ton of stuff for Jake too.

jas12 i hope Co is feeling better. and have a great time in NYC!! love the pic of Co, such a cutie!!

burk hoping your MS comes to an end by the time you leave on your trip. B loves stickers too!! so strange. there are stickers all over the place in is room and i had to take it off our walls in the house. then when he realizes that they are "missing," he''ll put more up everywhere. well, i guess it''s a good thing you still have t in a crib then cause i am sure she would be climbing out of her toddler bed when nap time and bedtime come around. heehee, i''m sure you look great, but you were so teeny tiny to begin with so the smallest amount of bloat probably makes it look like you are showing.

mrsS sounds like you did well at old navy!

puffy, when''s your ultrasound today?? I''ll admit to logging in just to see if you had news for us yet.

Jas12--
What a cute picture of Co!
Sorry to hear that your little munchkin is having a fever.
I think there is something in the air cuz 2 kids in J's class were out w/ fevers at the end of last week.
Hope Co gets better soon. And it would be a shame if you have to miss Charlie's big bash.

Haha, you imagined right. She's already doing it.
She tried to make a run for it when I went to put her milk away in the fridge.
She was in such glee when she climbed off my bed and made her dash to the door.

MrsS--
J is no neater. She'll have food in her hair and ears too!
I just let daycare deal w/ it.
At home, we do limit her a bit and cleaned her up occasionally before she makes too much of a mess.

Puffy--
That's interesting...I've heard that children can be very keen about things like this, or it could just be what they wanted :P
Hmmm....well then, if you are planning on 3, then I think a girl as #3 would be ideal -- the little princess of the family :D
Is it today or next Wednesday that you are having the u/s? Today right since next wed would be Aug.
Can't wait to hear the news!

mrsS haha, the ultrasound isn''t for another 2 hours and then we''ll have a bunch of stuff to do after the ultrasound. but as soon as we get home, i will post the news.

okay. well I hope you have a great time. I always loved the big ultrasound day and really it''s exciting no matter what sex the baby ends up being!

Sorry don''t have time to respond to everyone''s posts. Maybe later tonight after M goes to bed and I am tired of doing party related things.

I think a few of you asked how many were invited to the party. We sent evite out to about 47 people and gave formal invitations to another 25 people. There''s 50 people who RSVPed through evite and about 35 people family members, so probably at least 85 people in our house and backyard on Sat.

puffy
Can''t wait for your gender announcement.

Hi to all the mommies and toddlers.

My baby is 1 tomorrow. Crazy.

just real quick....

congrats puffy! that is so exciting! B is going to have so much fun with his little brother! there''s always next time for a girl. :)

puffy, congratulations on another boy!!!!
36.gif
There is a lot to be said about the ease of having same sex siblings--it''s going to be great!!!! So happy for you!

Puffy--congrats!!!!
36.gif
How great that B is so excited. That''s adorable. Maybe i''ll follow in your footsteps in the next month or so. Same gender sibs really appeals to me

Co is feeling better. I think he''ll be back to himself by tomorrow so the trip is on. I am feeling really anxious about it. I feel super guilty for leaving, even though i know he''ll be totally fine and will have fun with the grannies. He loves his grannies.

Tomorrow is my last day of nursing.

Obviously mixed emotions about it, but i did such a gradual wean from 13-16 mos that it''ll be easy on us both i think. Going away is a good way to break it off. He''ll be out of the house, distracted and not around me, so i doubt he''ll even notice.
Time to celebrate !!!

Tgal--forgot to give the official congrats on Amelia walking!!!

Isn''t that cool how it just ''clicked'', and so close to around the time you walked.
I am waiting for that to happen with Co. I can tell he''s still feeling things out, esp when he''s moving b/w pieces of furniture. I was going to ask about her foot but it looks like it''s just fine for her. Co looks like he has something going on. One ankle is really wacky. I haven''t brought him to the Dr. yet (will next month if no real progress --although he has taken 4 steps here and there) my mom is stressed that it is growing weird. So anyway, it gives me confidence that A figured it out just fine.
