PS Mommy thread with toddlers 12-36 months

Lili
OMG! Could that little girl be any cuter? What a doll!
It is pictures like those that give me the baby fever
*must stop looking*
30.gif

Bobo
Love the AV! Will you post pics of your house?
I''d love to see!

Burk
You''re such a good big sis driving all that way!
The cabinets look gorgeous. I love what you picked!

QT
Twins and not showing! It doesn''t get any better than that!
As long as the doc is not worried, then I wouldn''t worry.
My mom said none of us were ever on the charts - all little.

Tacori
How are you? Glad your gum is better. Everyone has an opinion YKWIM?
38.gif
(Now if only they could keep it to themselves)
I found a great, inexpensive pair of jeans. They are from Delia''s, they come in 4 diff. lengths, and really comfy. They''re called Bailey.

Puffy
Great news about the U/S. So glad it went well!

MrsS
Good to hear that Jake''s on the run
3.gif
(Never a dull moment)
Good luck with your packing and your move!

Tacori
Yeah. It''s such a misunderstanding that BFing is simple/easy. Last time when I went to our cousin''s baby welcoming party, she was asking about BFing b/c she wasn''t getting every much from pumping. So I gave her some advices/tips (like putting her DS on the breasts instead of pumping, pump more often/at night when baby is sleeping, try oatmeal, etc). Her responses were "oh I don''t want to wake up to pump", "ewww oatmeal is nasty", etc. I was kind of annoyed b/c why do you ask if you are not going to do anything about it. I don''t go preaching breast is best. I just felt that way b/c she asked.

Haha. Baby fever will hit you soon enough. j/k. I don''t think I can handle twins, especially with a toddler on hand.

Bobo
Glad your knee is better. It only looks worse, but it''s getting better if the bruise is spreading.

I don''t think the dream is hinting anything. I dream about weird things all the time.

puffy
Well we haven''t actually sat down and say let''s TTC by "date", but we wouldn''t mind if we get pregnant since a couple months ago. In my mind, I plan to officially start in August, but haven''t inform DH yet.

I don''t think M walking and running will stop the baby fever since we want our children to be close in age.

lili
I don''t think I am. I don''t have those kind of senses. When I got nauseous before finding out I was pregnant with M, I thought I just didn''t get enough sleep.

I know I''m just over-worrying about M''s eating. Just the mom in me.

I think snlee decided to not post any more pics of D, so that''s y I didn''t post any pics of M and D at the GTG. I''ll double check with her.

Burk
Yeah seems like M is back to putting herself to sleep. Let''s hope so.

She is only getting 2 solid meals. I told MIL to give her 3 meals before, but I think she is giving M a meal at 9-10ish b/c she makes the food in the morning. I''ll talk to her again.

You are having a busy day.

MrsS
Thanks. I am just over-worrying.

lili haha, B doesn''t say good night to the baby. he just says good night to me and gives me a kiss then he will rub and pat my belly and sometimes give it a kiss. i asked him what he wants to be in there, a boy or a girl, and you know what he said??? "A DOG!!!" haha! he kills me! how is the weaning going? or are you not trying to wean yet?

burk WOW, busy day for sure!!! did you guys cut back on the sq. footage for the house or are you guys still working on it? DH is not going to be away for work. he''s going on a trip with the guys. i mean, i told him that i would be ok with it just because like i said, he isn''t really around much anyways, and right now, B is getting so independent playing by himself and keeping himself entertained, i think that i should be ok. but DH already said that i deserve something extra nice for being so great about it. haha. hope your day goes well.

mrsS so cute that jake is on the go. i totally miss those wobbly steps. good luck with the packing and move..it''s right around the corner!

iluv how are you and the family doing? i''ve been meaning to ask, how old your dog is.

qt august huh? wow, just a few more months. good to hear that M is putting herself to sleep again. i hope it continues. how many kids do you and your DH want?

mrss~T is obsessed with being outside too. She will sometimes stand by the back door saying "outside now"
20.gif
So fun that Jake is walking for longer stretches. Before you know it he''ll be running! Good luck with the rest of the packing. I hate packing. At least you have half done!

iluv~Thanks! Glad you like the cabinets. Hardly anyone has commented on the thread so I was kind of second guessing. I think they''ll turn out good, though.

QT~Busy yes, but good busy. Maybe she could do a breakfast and a lunch meal?

puffy~yea, busy busy. We did cut back some with the sq. footage...like the kids rooms (why waste square footage there when they''re only going to sleep there ya know?) and DH''s office. We also made the master a little smaller because I don''t see the point in it being huge...the closet needs to be huge though!
3.gif
Hopefully our builder will tell us tonight that the cutting will help a lot with cost. You do deserve something nice for being great! Two weeks is a long time if it''s just for fun!

Thanks puffy, I hope we are close to finish shopping. I just can't wait to get it over with. yay
36.gif
on little bean with heartbeat! I'm sure Jan. 4 will be here before you know it. How sweet of B to rub and kiss your belly, cracks me up when with the "dog" comment.

Thanks lili, lol, did you thought I jump thru the door?
9.gif
I think I bruised my tissue too but oh well...I'll live.

Burk, will try to post some granite pics when I get a chance. Can I post the pics over on your house thread? Looks like you are super busy too.

MrsS, Jake must looked so cute with the wobbly walk. I hear ya on the packing, we need to move by the end of June and I should really start packing but knowing me I will probably wait till the last 3 days to pack.

Thanks iluv, I do have some shot of the house but it's after everything is knocked out so it's just empty space. Will try to post some pics when I get a chance.

Thanks QT, after we were in escrow with our first house I had a dream that DH and I are shopping in a jewelry store and the center stone in my ring fell out. We went searching for the stone and found it. When I woke up I told DH that I felt the dream was about the house.

Something will happen with the house and we'll loose it but we will find another one. Then we found out there are 3 sex offenders live right next to the house so we cancel escrow on the house and few months later we got this current house. So you never know...

puffy: congrats on the heartbeat, that is just the best sound in the world isn''t it?

lili: I did buy C the mesh food feeder. She is not interested so far. She looks at it and then bites the handle--I''ll keep trying. She seems most interested in whatever we put in our mouths! And her eating habits did change overnight. 2 weeks ago she would drink no more than 3oz at once for days straight. To the point I called the pedi. Now she is downing 6 oz. Maybe a growth spurt. I gotta look out for that onesie and find those clips meanwhile! :)

bobo: i hope yoru knee is better. That is quite the superwoman move trying to hurdle the gate--I would have went down before the first leg made it over!

qtiekiki: hope M is eating better--it''s probably a phase. August is close meanwhile!

tacori: glad to hear your gum is better! How''re things going on the stress front, I hope better.

msb: love the b''day pics btw-I forgot to comment! I had no idea K had an egg allergy..poor little guy.

C is now escaping all blankets at night meanwhile. I''m wondering if she''s trying to tell me something. She ends up way the other side of her crib, or upside down with no blankies ! And it''s not warm at night!

Thanks Janine, don''t laugh but after I ran outside and saw my DH running towards us and once we''re in his arms I realized I was shaking so hard and I started to cry...not so much a superwoman
20.gif

little B is like that when he was little, escaping blankets and end up at the other side of the cribe. So we bought wearable blanket, like sleeping bag but it''s like they are wearing the sleeping bag.

burk how did the meeting with the builders go? when do you break ground? you guys must be so excited. the funny thing about DH being gone for 2 weeks is he tells me to call him if i need anything. i had to laugh when he said that cause i was like, so are you flying back if i did need you to be here? and if he even did decide to fly back, by the time he got back, i''m sure things would have been under control. then he said, he was just being nice cause he knew i would make some sarcastic comment like that. haha.

bobo yeah, B is pretty funny sometimes. i just wonder where he learns the stuff that comes out of his mouth. haha. today he was asking me how the little puppy was? i was like huh? and he said the baby!! haha. i guess he''ll be pretty disappointed when a baby pops out and not a dog. haha. how is little B doing?

janine i was definitely relieved when we saw the heartbeat and doc said everything looks great. kids get super hot in their sleep. i know B used to be like that too, he would toss the blanket or it would be rolled up under his head being used as a pillow, and when i go put it back on him, and i touch him to see if he''s cold, he would feel like an oven. but if you''re worried, you can do like bobo said and get those blankets that are meant to be worn.

Burk
Haha, Miss Social Butterfly there will probably enjoy that busy weekend.
She thrives on activities and social events huh -- like J here.
Then afterward, she''ll let us have it
38.gif

MrsS
Wow, can''t believe that you guys are going to move so soon.
You and family must be so excited to be close to family again.
36.gif
36.gif
for Jake walking 20ft. It is nice when they are on their feet more.
I always cringed when J crawled on the ground and then put her hand in her mouth
14.gif

iluvcarats
Thanks. Are you sure you don''t want another one?
Sam may like to be a big brother
41.gif

QT
Maybe she was hoping to hear you tell her that she''s doing fine or she''s hoping that there is something she likes to do that she can do
41.gif

I understand about not posting pictures, but sure would love to see M and D together :)
Hehe, not let DH know about TTC plan yet? Just tell DH when you are pregnant
2.gif

Oh, been meaning to ask if you the porridge that your MIL makes for M is hard to prepare.
Mind if you share the recipe for it?
5.gif

Puffy
LOL....he''ll be in for a surprise when the baby comes out and it doesn''t have furry paws and a wet nose.
I am in the process of weaning her and it''s not going too well.
The good news is that she''s been drinking a few ounces of milk each day though, so at least I know she''s ok w/ the milk taste so far.
I''ll be more consistent w/ weaning in a few weeks.
Glad to hear you had a great first prenatal visit.
Wow, Jan 04. Maybe it''ll be a NY baby.

Bobo
You must have some sort of sixth sense.
That''s pretty interesting about your dreams.
I''d love to hear when you have another dream about being preggo.

Bobo~Yes, do post the granite pics in the house thread...and any other pics of choices you''ve made so far for that matter. That''s why I started it.

Janine~T is all over the place when she sleeps to. If you think she''s getting cold without blankets you can buy the fleece footed PJs to keep her warm.

puffy~The meeting went really well. We sign our contract tomorrow!
6.gif
Which means we should break ground within a week to a week and a half depending on how long it takes to get the building permit and what not. Very exciting. Funny your Dh made that comment just to hear your sarcastic response....my DH does that ALL THE TIME. Men.
20.gif

lili~yep, we have crazy ones on our hands don''t we! T did great with everything last night. She played by herself while our builder was at our house and even when everything went past her bed time did not fuss once. We''ll see how she does at daycare today, though.
5.gif

We''re showing the house again tonight so T and I are going to go grocery shopping while DH shows it. Having to pick up after her during a showing is NOT an easy task.

I am too far behind. Tessa finally came out of her shell at child watch last night. When I picked her up they brought her inside all red cheeked, dirty from the mulch and a HUGE booger on her cheek
14.gif
She obviously played hard out there. We are going back again tonight. Poor girl. She has been so fussy and out of it from teething that I am excited to pawn her off on someone else. Mother of the year!
20.gif
So I am not sure if any of you got this but when I was preggo and PP I got some skin discoloring on my face. I am using the uber expensive bleaching cream and I got a little aggressive the other night and must have gotten it in the corner of my mouths. The next day they were SO chapped I could hardly open my mouth. So my gum healed and now my lips are in pain. Never ending cycle ladies
20.gif
Hopefully this cream will work though. Of course my doctor said chances are the same thing will happen with my next pregnancy.
15.gif

Hope everyone else is doing great!

Tacori~That''s awesome that Miss Tessa "got dirty" at childwatch! Poor thing with her teething. Good for you for getting back to the gym so religiously. I need to do that!! I keep reminding myself how much money I''m paying for my membership and that I need to USE it! Sorry about your lips. That sounds horrible. The things we do to have kids....

puffy, your B is so funny, cracks me up every time. little B is doing well, thanks for asking. He is into singing and dancing now, MIL and the aunts are his fans.

lili, yeah...I got some interesting dreams. We cook porridge for little B every week too.
Our recipe is use chicken soup as base (we cook the chicken soup from scratch too)
put rice, anchovies (the kind you can get at the Japanese market, it''s little white fishes)
broccoli, carrots and big pork or beef bones.
We chopped/shredded veggies into very small pieces and will take the meat off the bones and chopped into small pieces.

Burk, will post some granite and house shot over at the house thread when I get a chance. Have a good time shopping tonight! Get some ice cream!!

Tacori, sounds like Tessa had a blast at the child watch. sorry to hear about your mouth. that is one strong cream you got.

lili that''s a start that she is drinking whole milk now. weaning is not easy and i wish you the best of luck doing it. i just hope J doesn''t go nuts because you won''t let her nurse.

burk YAY!!! you sign the contract tomorrow!! do you know if any people who looked at the house are interested in it? but i am sure you are in no rush to actually sell?

tacori sounds like T had a wonderful time playing outside at the child watch. poor T with the teething, hopefully those k9s will break through soon and she will be back to her happy ole self. sorry to hear about your lip...OUCH!!! is it feeling better? hope T has a great time at child watch again and have a great workout!!

bobo awwww, that''s so cute that he loves to sing and dance!! when i tell B to do a dance for us, his favorite dance is when he has 1 leg off the floor, like a dog peeing on a pole, and he''ll just shake his booty. it cracks me up so hard. good to hear that little B is doing well. i just love those cheeks of his, my goodness so darn kissable!!

Bobo~Woo hoo!! Can''t wait to see your pics! Yum....ice cream sounds so good! Grocery shopping with T is a chore.

puffy~Yea, we''re pretty excited to sign the contract and get going....even though we''re SOOOO over budget.
3.gif
The guy who is looking at our house tonight told DH he is bringing a letter from his banker for pre-approval for a loan so I''m guessing he''s pretty interested but DH thinks he sounds a little "off" whatever that means. We''re in no real hurry to sell it since we won''t be in our new house until at least October. (and living with the IL''s just doesn''t seem like fun to me for some reason
14.gif
)

lili, love love love the pics of J! Especially the one of her running on the beach. It just captures the essence of her. She is such a beautiful girl. I don''t know if it''s your stories, or really true but she does have the most impish, mischievous look about her! J just cracks me up. How funny that she will identify her body parts only when she is nursing or having a diape change. Isn''t it still so weird what they pick up? I''ve been narrating body parts for awhile (when I give Amelia a bath) but she just started pointing them out this week. So far she''s got belly button, toes and nose. Who knows what else she''s picked up.

Linda, I''m just slack at taking photos and even worse posting them. Something about having to attach the USB cord to my computer that I seem to be adverse to!

Bobo, how big is your remodel project? Sounds like a serious undertaking!

iluv, hey, I''d rather a kid eat her veggies than fruit any day! And if she lives a life loving brussel sprouts and going to chocolate for her sweet fix, I can think of worse things, hehehe.

curly, hooray for pee in the potty! I really need to start reading up. What do you guys all think about starting a potty training thread, with all the links and tips in one thread? It''s about a big a subject as sleep training, doncha think?

Tacori, I am glad to hear your gums are doing better. It SUCKS to have any mouth pain, that''s for sure.

MrsS, Amelia must read this behind my back because she started signing "more" this week too. Nanny taught her that, not me. What carseat do you have again? It''s freaky how big these kids get and how fast.

Burk, I haven''t gone through the entire thread yet to see what you did, but Amelia''s nap is at 11:30 and it works out great. Before, her naps were pretty much on the same schedule as T''s. Also, I do trim Amelia''s hair. Haven''t give her 3 now. I only let her watch TV when I need to clip her nails or trim her hair (with the occasional time she is stubborn about eating thrown in). She sits totally still when she watches TV so I can easily trim her hair then.

Bobo, love the new avi. But the one of him dressed as the girl is still my all time fave! (followed closely by the one with him with headphones.) Hope your knee is feeling better!

Burk, just read the story of graduation day. LOL, T is such a social girl. And you''re right...even when they are on good behavior, it is exhausting to be the only parent without backup!

Janine, I got the cute clip at a vendor who sells the giddy giddy clip (giddygiddy.com) Several months back, I had a fetish for them and a few others baby girl PS moms bought them too. I still love them, especially since she has more hair and get comments and questions on them all the time. They really make an outfit. (ETA, just read that lili gave you the scoop!) Also, I forgot to tell ALL the gal moms, but while I was away in Oz, giddy giddy sent out an email saying they were having a sale, each clip for $5. Bummed I missed that one and wasn''t able to tell you about it. So maybe this holiday season, they will run the sale again.

lili, forgot to mention that 6 month onesie still fits her great! I will take one more pic of Amelia this week...the nekkie diaper pic. She''s thinning out even more, so I could probably get a 6 month onesie on her!

QT, consider yourself lucky that M likes solids!

puffy, hahaha, cute about B and the camera and your belly. Clever boy.

MrsS, Jake just sounds so cute with his walking. It does seem it gets easier when they do...I''m actually looking forward to it myself.

Tacori, yikes on the bleaching cream. Well, at least you know it does something. Let me know if works. My melasma got worse AFTER I had the kid. Ugh.

As far as Amelia news goes...

Well, big breakthrough this week in the OT front. Her 12 teeth are no longer worthless! She is biting. She was chewing her food (i.e., when it got in there) but would not bite anything off. I''ve been working with her and now she''s a biting fiend. Awesome.

My only real big concern now is her gimp foot. It just doesn''t look right to me, but it''s already checked out fine. Ah well, I''ll get it checked again when we visit the ped at 15 months.

Date night tonight...1.5 hours couples massage followed by dinner!
36.gif

Thanks puffy, LOL...your B is so funny. little B got a move like a doggie too.
He''ll get down on all fours and shake his head and booty...super cute, I love it.
His Aunts love to pinch his cheeks because they are so big, now little B will just walk up
to me or DH and grab our cheeks.

Burk, that is why you need to get ice cream to reward yourself.
You guys get the new house build by October this year? that is fast...there is a house
in my mom''s neighborhood that just finished rebuild. They pretty much just left the structure
of the house and rebuild everything and it took like almost a year.

Thanks TGal, knee is getting better, just look dirty with the big bruise
because the bruise is turning brown.

The remodel project started out small, I just want the kitchen remodel since the cabinets are
falling off and the appliances don''t work. But now we end up moving the laundry room to
the garage, remove popcorn ceiling, 2 bathrooms, painting the whole house, change the floor
in the kitchen area to tile and living room area to wood. I think that is our list so far...

Amelia is very advance in the teeth dept. little B only got 8 so far and 2 is popping out.
Envy your date night, sounds dreamy already.

Tacori, yikes on the bleaching cream. Well, at least you know it does something. Let me know if works. My melasma got worse AFTER I had the kid. Ugh.

i didn't have any melasma until after my second kid. then it showed up and seems worse when I'm on the pill. I'd be interested to know if your cream works tacori b/c for me the only thing that keeps it at bay is to keep my face completely out of the sun I haven't tried any bleaching creams though. i usually wear sunscreen and a hat which is fine, but not fun in the pool when I want to actually swim with my kids. I've got olive skin and it picks up color no matter how much sunscreen I use so I figured I would just have to live with it or buy a good foundation to cover it at some point.

tgal-have fun on your massage/date with tguy...that sounds soooooo wonderful. I haven't had a date with my hubby in months
7.gif
(due to him currently living in a different city, not that we're having any problems
1.gif
)

gotta go put a kids to bed, be back in a few...

Burk
How exciting about digging. Sounds like everything is progressing nicely.
Can''t wait to see your home as it is built.
Hehe, I think T will be just fine at daycare.
Being such a social butterfly, she probably misses daycare and the interaction w/ her friends.

Tacori
Ouch on the chapped lips.
Try vaseline jelly...they work wonder on chapped lips (even the crached edges).
That''s great the T is coming out of her shell at the child watch. Is she w/ the toddler now?
Haha, believe, I''d pawn too if I have to stay home w/ her 24/7
9.gif

Bobo
So do you have a lot of deja-vu moments because of your dreams? :)
Ooo...thanks for the porridge recipe.
I''ll give that a try....sounds yummy.
That''s cute B is into singing and dancing. J is too.

burk-so excited for you and the house coming right along

lili-that is great J is drinking milk. it will be so much easier to wean if she''s drinking consistently from another souce.

tgal- I''ve got the Britax Roundabout for Jake and Yay for Amelia biting (isn''t funny how excited we get over what seems to be such a little thing)

bobo-you''ve got your hands full with the remodel, but I bet it will be so worth it in the end.

puffy
Ugh, she did go crazy when I refused her.
Squealed at the top of her lungs and tears streamed down her face.
I think weaning is going to be a slow and painful process.
Hopefully I'll have her weaned before her 15th month.
Hehe, B is funny w/ the dog peeing dance! How cute!

TGal

36.gif
for the teeth not being worthless
9.gif

I think you may be onto something about threatening her w/ therapy
9.gif

Seriously, I think babies just have their own timeline when it comes to doing things or trying new things.
A will surprised you and stand up on her own before you know it.
So, did you ever manage to get some pictures of her bootee while crawling?

It is weird what they pick up.
And they seem to show what they know overnight too.
I've been singing songs w/ hand motions and stuff w/ J for a while, and then just one day, she's mimicking all the hand motions -- like the itsy bitsy spider, twinkle twinkle little star, bumble bee, and monkey jumping on the bed -- which is just hilarious. She'll tap her finger on her other palm when I said 5 little monkeys jumping on the bed. Then she'll grab her head when it get to the part where one little monkey fell down and broke her head. Then she'll do the head shaking when we get to the part where the dr adviced the mom not to have littl monkey jumping on the bed.

She is impish. She'll hide her toys under butt in the carseat and say all gone. Does the same thing w/ food (meat in particular) that we put on her tray that she doesn't like
38.gif

Eee...you should put A in her 6month onesie and do a comparison shot.
Can't wait to see her nekkid diaper shot.

36.gif
for date night and the 1.5 massage.
Enjoy.

MrsS
She''s still not drinking as much as I''d like, but it is a start.
I figure it is probably just timing. A week ago, she would not even take a sip.
But just this week, she''ll drink about 1.5-2.5 ounce each time, so that''s good.

So is Jake good w/ whole milk or is he still abit allergic?

Thought I share this cute pix that DH took.

So is Jake good w/ whole milk or is he still abit allergic?

that is a good start. Jake didn''t really start drinking a lot out of cups until I fully weaned him. he would just sip a little now and then. Now, he drinks like a pro, thank goodness...she''ll get there. I still don''t give Jake any whole milk. I do soy milk or water or a little juice that he has to drink with his liquid vitamins. His skin is a ton better and I do let him eat cheese and other dairy and he seems to do fine. Since there really isn''t a reason he has to have whole milk I just don''t want to risk it.

MrsS
Oh speaking of juice, what kind of juice do you give Jake?
J doesn''t seem to apple juice, but she guzzled down the orange juice w/ pulp.

first lili, that picture of you and J on the beach...priceless...I love pictures like that..just so sweet and really capture a moment in time...

juice: jake really likes them all. he''s had apple, white grape, and juicy juice berry. I haven''t tried orange juice yet but should. My girls don''t drink milk so I buy the calcium fortified OJ for them. I''m sure Jake would like it. your story of J hiding her food and saying all gone is hysterical by the way. Jake just tosses what he doesn''t like or want to our dog who sits right next to Jake waiting for him to give her something
