Hi, looking to buy a diamond for my engagement ring. After much though, I've made my mind on which stone I want.
It is AGS-104103679006 from WF.
1.645ct I color SI1 and Brittany confirmed me that it is completely eye clean at close up.
Depth % 61.8
Table % 56.5
Crown Angle 34.7
Star 52.0
Pavilion Angle 40.7
Crown % 15.0
Lower Girdle % 76.0

This is the link to the stone.
The only thing I'm worried about is that certificate says "additional clouds are not shown" Should I be worried about this? Is there anything from this diamond that could be undesirable?
Please provide your valuable insight!

I like the proportions of this stone and the table is clean almost identical .

When you say that you like the table, do you mean that it has 56% table vs 56.5%? Shorter table the better?

Both stones have 56 table which will make no difference in performance. The one I suggested has no inclusions on the table so its clean there That's what I meant. Typically you want a clean table but you also want to check the main inclusions won't affect light performance and it's eye clean.

@ACA Dia IMO the original stone you are looking at looks cleaner. Call WF and ask about the additional clouds. I dont think they will be an issue.
You can also ask for pictures of both these stones side-by-side if you wish.

Agreed. I trust WF 100%, so ask them their thoughts and have them send pics. I like your original choice.

Hi,Brittany just emailed me back saying that it is very crisp and not cloudy at all. Should I proceed?

Hi Brittany confirmed that the stone is crisp in transparency and not cloudy at all.

Be sure to have her check under direct sunlight as well, right next to a stone with no cloud. I'm super careful because of my own unfortunate experience.

Agreed- check all lighting conditions. I have a stone that can appear as crystal clear as a Nordic spring sometimes, and as murky as swamp water at others! Maybe not that bad, but it looks completely different. It’s an I1. Still love it though!

For what it’s worth, my ACA VS2 stone had inclusion at the table and the cert. also said “additional clouds not shown”. I hounded Brittany about it if it was absolutely eye clean from 5-6 inches and if the inclusion on the table affected performance in brilliance, fire, sparkle...everything. She reassured me it’s a beautiful diamond and it is. It sparkles like crazy that it distracts me at work sometimes hahaa and has so much fire. I’ve worked with her since 2015 and have upgraded twice. I trust her. I can’t see any inclusions with my naked eye no matter how hard I look. I can’t even see it with the loupe they gave me. Hope this helps.

@ACA Dia - Hi! Did you decide to go for it?

@Dmndsr4evr11 Hi, sadly someone bought it the day I was gonna make the purchase. What a timing! Well, now I'm thinking if I should stick to I color or upgrade color to H color...Do you have any experience comparing those colors? I saw this youtube video comparing D vs H vs I and when looking at an angle, I color showed a lot of yellow-ness. I was so shocked and was thinking about going with H. any advice you can give me?

I will say this. I had an H 1.23 carat diamond. I upgraded to an I 2 carat thinking I wouldn’t notice a difference. Well i do and I’m currently working on upgrading mine to an H.

When I bought an ACA I went with an 'I' knowing I could return it once I had my eyes on it, or upgrade it down the road. Just didn't want to buy more color than I needed as a starting point. If you do go with a near colorless I'd just be sure to ask the associate what end of the spectrum that Stone falls into within that color grade. In my experience WF has been nothing short of fantastic & honest at every turn. I was very nervous about the color waiting for it to arrive & probably watched rhino's color videos about once a day to calm my nerves but in the end I couldn't be happier with it.
Hope that helps
Sorry for the lengthy post

I’m sorry someone swooped it from you. It really depends how color sensitive you are. My original e-ring was an I SI1 non-ACA and I never noticed any color but it was a smaller stone too at .63 carats. I then upgraded to an I VS2 premium select 1.37 carats and I thought it was very white too. I wanted a bigger ring so I thought I could sacrifice on color thinking I was not color sensitive. Reading wonderful posts about J color here made me go for it and went to a larger 1.87 ES VS2 stone. I loved it initially but I did notice its warmth from in certain lighting. I kept it because I liked the size so much and it was white most of the time. My friends always commented how sparkly it was and how beautiful the stone is. No one seemed to notice the color except me especially in certain lighting which started to bug me. It was white most of the time though. It was just me. I think I have become more color sensitive over time. So, I decided to go for an H VS2 ACA this time. I love this stone more and more each day. There’s definitely a noticeable color difference between the J and H. I did not see much difference between my I and H but the I was a smaller stone too. Bigger stones will show more body color. The H is white most of the time except in a few instances. Not enough to bother me as I can’t get enough of its fire and brilliance sometimes I just stare at it Hahaha. I eventually want an F or G when I upgrade again to a bigger size just because I have become more color sensitive and I know I want a whiter stone. HTH. Hope you find another stone soon. Good luck!!!
