Hi everyone- Long time lurker and have learned a ton on here. I ended up buying a diamond from a PS vendor but I wanted to get the setting locally so I could see it in person and just in case there were sizing issues(didn't want to deal with shipping, anxiety over the mail, etc). Initially, the jeweler told me that the diamond was going to be too large (it's 1.80 carats and a 60/60 cut) for the setting and that they would have to buy a new bed or clasp? Anyway, after the manager from the store talked to the jeweler, he decided that he could get the diamond in it afterall. I got it home yesterday and it just didn't look symetrical. I am super OCD but I am pretty sure that the diamond in this ring is pretty crooked.
My question from here is: Am I being OCD and is this probably my anxiety about the impending engagement rearing it's head?! OR is this crooked and did they do a quick and not so great job. To set the diamond in the ring, it cost $150 and this is a very reputable jewelry store in the Boston Area.
