I wanted to update and tell everyone that after all that the MOH didn't even show up to the shower.

Sorry to leave you all hanging! I guess the MOH never planned on making it to the shower and the bride knew she wouldn't be there as she had something going on with work. Like I said before we bridesmaids were not "in the know" about much for the shower, so I'm not surprised that we didn't know she wouldn't be there. At least a couple of us did not. One other BM said she found out the day before about the dress code, the same sort of way I did by a shower guest asking her about what to wear. LOL

Only about 7 of 20 non-bridesmaids showed up. I'm not sure if the other invitees were turned off by the dress code or the long drive as it was about 30 min drive for most of the guests. My best friend ended up talking me into making the MOH's fruit salad, since she figured in the long run it would be easier for me not to tick off the difficult person. Her recipe was OK, but I noticed at the shower that the bride didn't even eat any! I can't really eat the kinds of fruits that are in that salad as I found out the other day, so I have a whole bowl of it rotting in my fridge right now to be thrown out this weekend!

Regardless of the fruits salad issue, the shower was nice and fun and the bride seemed to enjoy herself. And a most of the guests complied with the dress code at least that most wore dresses of some sort. Not sure about the jewelry part.

I'm tasked with bringing donuts to the wedding morning, but I'm totally bringing banana bread instead. Much healthier and it won't cost me anything. That's close, right?

ETA: Did I mention I hate donuts? LOL

That is close enough - banana bread is a much nicer/healthier option than donuts. Clearly another MOH "order"?

I'm glad you went and the bride had fun but after the wedding, I hope you can start a new tradition for "trashing the MOH!" never mind the brides dress - put the MOH in a puddle of water!

I really wonder if the Bride isn't behind a lot of this stuff...anyway....doesn't matter....this is one wedding you'll be "talking " of for some time!
