Portuguese cut diamond on DK’s IG - please be a PSer!

Ooh, that is interesting - I've not seen that cut before.

I wonder how it performs under spotlights!

I'm so glad you mentioned this, I saw that too! I've never seen a portugese cut diamond before. I have portugese cut spinels that are so sparkly. I bet that diamond is amazing !

I saw that too! I’ve seen Portuguese cut coloured stones but not a diamond. Love the simple, elegant setting too, so also hoping we get to see more pics!

I saw that and assumed it was a sapphire (didnt read the text) due to the cut! Silly me...I would love to play with it in the sun to see
how it returns light and puts out fire. Lovely setting too!

Is this also called a jubilee cut? I've seen those on Alex Park's site, maybe this stone is from him... ?

Jubilee cuts are slightly different - table is a bit like a rose cut. I looked for cutting diagrams and they’re more similar than I realised actually!

Portuguese cuts remind me of chrysanthemums; they’re so pretty. I’d love to see how a diamond sparkles in that cut!

I have a Portuguese cut (unmentionable) and it is super sparkly but not fiery. I wonder if that is the tradeoff for those many tiny facets. It has a plump crown and is such a neat shape. Hope someone who knows more about this cut will come along and share :)

I saw that too & had to watch it a few times to get a handle on what I was looking at. I'm not sure about the cut in a diamond. If you're a PS'r, come out & give us your take on the stone. We are curious about it. :cool2:

That's gorgeous !!
