First of all, I want to thank the PS community for all the knowledge and the tremendous amount of time people put in to help others. In short, I am discovering my new love.... (may I say bad influence?:P2) But really, I've learned so much from you guys since I joined, so a big salute to all your contributions. I am largely a lurker, don't really get too much opportunity to allow myself on these forums. But every time I am able to check in, there's just so much to learn and of course admire all these new blings.

I feel fortunate to be able to work on my dream project and absolutely feel lucky to get to know Jon. He is such a great guy and has all the patience with me. He was able to answer all my questions, but of course I have no experience with AVC, in fact, never even seen one in real life. So I truly value your inputs, especially since a lot of you own (or have owned) either a AVC or AVR. I feel like I should follow my gut, but would love to hear what you guys think. This will be my first (and hopefully my forever) diamond pendant.

As for the pendant setting, I am having a tough time deciding, would love to see pictures. I guess I have not seen enough AVC pendant. I might get a temp setting and take the time to decide what I want. But do you think it will be a waste of $ to get a temp setting? Because mostly likely I won't be able to reuse that? Anyhow without further ado....

Always love watching Jon's video, I hope you'll enjoy it too:

Thanks for your vote, and pls do take into consideration of the cost while you vote. Of course the bigger is always better, but also cost a lot more. Ha ha.... :rodent:

Cheers!

One or Three for me with my preference for three. I don't love the SI2 clarity of the second choice. I love the size of the third one but it is overkill on clarity however it is beautiful. And the first one is beautiful too though smaller. So really you cannot go wrong. I mean it is an August Vintage Cushion. Cut for perfection. No matter what you choose it is beautiful so comes down to personal preference and pocketbook. Cannot wait to see what you decide.

As for setting what is your thinking? Simple solitaire or bezel or something different? Personal aesthetics entirely. I love a beautiful solitaire setting for a pendant that is a nice size.

1 & 3 have pretty obvious inclusions - so I'd go for #3....although they're all too yellow for me (personally). I guess that's part of the vintage appeal though.

Yes, and I am very nervous about getting a K/L color stone, and it took me a very long time to pull the trigger. But I can't wait to be seeing the stone, hopefully very soon.

You'd probably have to drop in size to about 1 carat in order to get a whiter stone - and keep in mind that when you see the stone in person, the colour may not be an issue at all .

ps - I meant to say I preferred #2 above .Best of luck!

Exactly this! The bigger the stone, the simpler the setting.

I would go for the K. As long as it’s pretty I would not mind a SI2 for a pendant. As long as you can upgrade at eh future I would be ok with a SI2.

My first choice is a bezel setting, but I haven't seen a lot of AVC pendant. I see more with the AVRs in bezel settings. They look absolutely stunning.

My major concern is the color of the metal, I prefer white gold, but not sure how that'll look with a K/L stone, or whether I should use color metal. I thought of getting a temp setting and take the time to try out what I like, but it will be a waste of money if I can't reuse/sell them when I have a more permanent setting.

You could set it in unplated white gold. Take a look at CVB's instagram, she has many bezel rings that could easily be made into a pendant.

If it looks this great in rose it will look great with white metal. @JDDN’s stone is a K. I had similar concerns with a K in white metal halo but turned out not to be an issue.

Your ring is stunning. It must be mesmerizing to see the pastel flashes. I would not be able to guess that’s a K, look very white to me with a hint of pink and baby blue from the background. The setting is lovely, one of a kind.

Thank you. I was very worried that the platinum bezel would cause obstruction or cause the stone to look dark. It didn’t. Given that your stone is an avc which is cut for maximum lift performance I don’t think it will make you stone look darker.

I saw your pendant in one of the other post, it’s one of my favorite piece here on PS! That’s one masterpiece. I heard sometimes it takes a while working with CVB, but that definitely worth the wait.

I would go for #3. It's stunning! I see that it's more expensive but if you're doing this once, I think the money is better spent this way.
I'm not against SI1 or even SI2 clarity but the position of those inclusions being right there on the table is what would bother me. I saw them both in Jon's video very easily without magnification.
I have a pear shaped stone in a ring, a D SI2, with some scattered tiny inclusions that are completely invisible to the naked eye. They're not under the table. I'd say that's what to look for in an SI2.
I think you can do anything you like with k-l color in terms of setting. Any metal would look wonderful with those stones! Good luck! I can't wait to see which one you decide upon and what you'll to do for your new pendant! :kiss2:
