Very late bump on this one, but this thread finally made me come out of lurking. Helloooo! I recently got engaged and received not one but TWO engagement rings. One is a sexy wide band, which will also serve as a wedding band after we tie the knot. I have an outdoorsy/occasionally physical job so I needed something besides my diamond. When ring searching I saw this vintage wide band on eBay and sucked all the air out of the room.
It's white gold with most of the rhodium plating worn off...but I love the color, and to me, the texture is even further enhanced by the bits of remaining plating. I love how wide bands look on my long (size 6.25) fingers. This one is over the 10mm mark. What do you think?

Waaaay late on this but here is mine. I love it, though I will say that water can get trapped in your ring and chap the crap out of your finger. So, always make sure your ring and finger is dry.

I don't remember ever seeing this thread before. I have and cherish my mom's alternate wedding set. Her first set was white gold which was her metal preference, however she had wanted a pearl for her engagement ring. My father learned that was not a good idea so he bought her a beautiful diamond in white gold. Then for their first Christmas he bought her a pearl ring in yellow gold and their first anniversary a wide yellow gold band to match. I guess Mom's fingers were longer than mine I could never wear the set as is but do occasionally wear them separately. I believe the band is 10 or 11mm.

Thank you for the pictures Jeanette! Your rings are just lovely. I especially like the yellow gold one. We are also planning to get yellow or rose gold rings. Its difficult to find over 6mm wide rings where I live (north-europe). Thats why I was asking some pictures to make the decision easier. I'm pretty sure we will go with 10mm rings. Just have to convince my husband who thinks that maybe that wide band on mens hand is not appropriate. I'm pretty sure I will convince him

Just have to find the goldsmith now. Will post pictures when we get the rings.
