I am so happy to find this thread. I too love wide bands but was afraid that they were out of fashion. So glad to see that they are alive and well. These wide bands are gorgeous!

My pre-divorce wedding rings consisted of a 7mm plain YG band, a 1.5 ct round diamond solitaire in a plain 4-prong setting, and a narrow "anniversary" band with 12 small channel set round diamonds (semi-eternity ring??). I have long, size 5.25 (15.9 for you) fingers, so the wide band plus two more rings fit well. Wearing them is what I miss most about being married.

Now I'm planning my second marriage and wedding rings. The band is the one in my avatar picture. It's 11mm wide in the front with three rows of diamonds. It has sizing beads to make it a teeny bit smaller and keep it from rotating on my finger. For an engagement ring, I'm looking for a sapphire right now over in the Colored Stones forum. I'm thinking maybe a 2ct oval stone with a half-bezel setting and east-west orientation to keep it from making the set too wide.

That is a gorgeous band on the picture. Congratulations! It seems that wide band rings are slowly coming back. I see them more and more around. I would prefer this kind of ring as ering and plain band as wedding band but it's all the matter of taste

Here is one I found, The lady tryed a thin band and hated the spinning and sliding of her engagement ring.
When she went to the wide wedding band the engagement ring stays where she wants it to be!

Thanks Jeanette for the picture. That is usually a problem with skinnier fingers and larger knuckles that the ring spins around.

It makes me think that maybe I should also wear a thin diamond ring with my wedding band. In thisthread there is also Jeanettes picture where she's wearing a thin ering with wide wedding band and I think it looks gorgeous.

Yes, you are right.
I was thinking to get a wide wedding band, but finally my hubby and me have decided to take a smaller one. Our bands are 5mm, 14k YG. I don't know exactly why . Perhaps because some friends advised us that small bands are much more comfortable and so an. But I'm not really happy . I am still fascinated by wide bands and I really enjoy looking at your pictures.
Our intension therefore is to replace our rings on one of the coming wedding anniversaries.

Finally, here they are

12mm wedding band, 8mm thumb ring with diamonds, 12mm ering with diamonds around and 6mm ring on small finger with one diamond (this I had earlier).

The size of wedding and ering came out really thight, but i like that they don't move around. Almost impossible to remove, but i hope i don't have to do this often
